The Titan can handle 1/2" foam core but I'd be surprised if it can handle something like 17mil PVC. The PVC is going to bind on the blade and make it nearly impossible to slide. (ignore this answer, I'm an idiot, see below)

I save everything just the way it was created. My photoshop files are saved with all the layers still there, Illustrator and Flexi files just like they were designed. Like Si said, hard drives are cheap.
