  1. Best Brands Website

If it ever does go to a pay site just google "free vector logos" and take your pick of 100 other sites.
  2. Anyone seen this process before?

No, but I'm pretty damn interested in that heat gun!
  3. 20 years of SignCraft and Sign Business mags.

Damn, that's almost worth flying out there to pick up.
  4. interesting clock!

My bad, I thought that was just meat consumed in the United States. The French can have all the horse meat they want.
  5. Signs of the Time Vehicle Contest

Two FastSigns franchise owners, a wrap shop owner, and another shop owner. I know these things are completely subjective, what one person likes another will hate, and I'm also wondering how many submissions they actually had. Could be that what they selected was the best of what they were...
  6. interesting clock!

Everytime I see that I just have to wonder where the 600,000 pounds of horse meat got eaten.
  7. Signs of the Time Vehicle Contest

It's in the new issue that I just got today.
  8. local install

I'm gonna have to agree with the other shop here, Brett. I would have expected the white to all be covered, that's the point of the wrap and if I was hiring you to do it I wouldn't have thought I'd need to mention it. I'm sure you did what you could with the mess you were given to work with...
  9. Do all resellers just suck?

Yeah, don't hijack my vendor rant, get your own! :ROFLMAO:
  10. Signs of the Time Vehicle Contest

Apparently all these years I've been wrong. I always assumed that clean, legible, and attractive was the most effective way to advertise to potential customers. Who would have guessed that cluttered up, impossible to read, and hit with so many effects the company image is "Hey, look what the...
  11. Restraunts menu

Lose the flame effect on Redneck's Barbecue and change the yellow border to a deep crimson color. Other than that it looks like every other cluttered up barbecue menu I've ever seen....but like a wise man once told me "If their menus look pretty and the place looks modern then the barbecue...
  12. I'm just about at ground zero, Need help with getting things rolling

It turns your weakness (sales) into a strength (honesty) for the customer. John, I could not disagree more about calling my existing customers and bugging the snot out of them for an order. I've got two big vendors that I bailed on for that very reason, one I had to go as far as call blocking...
  13. Do you consider your local competion friend or foe?

We're all pretty friendly but for the most part everybody sticks to themselves. I have no problem loaning them materials and no problem asking to borrow some. They're all welcome in my shop, as far as I can tell I'm welcome in theirs.
  14. New to Everything...All Advice Welcome

:ROFLMAO:You could always just order one of each from them and scan them to make your own templates.
  15. New to Everything...All Advice Welcome

Well more power to you then. You sound like you've looked at the competition factor, and all the other challenges associated with it and you're ready to take that on. That's pretty damn ambitious....and admirable. Good luck to you, hope you do extremely well with it.
  16. New to Everything...All Advice Welcome

Welcome. I would see accurate templates as your biggest hurdle. Just out of curiosity how many $10 cell phone skins do you have to sell to pay for Sign Lab, a plotter, a printer, a laminator, a website, licensing on stock designs, and an employee to run it all?
  17. I'm just about at ground zero, Need help with getting things rolling

When things hit bottom for me I rode around until I spent an afternoon driving around taking pictures of businesses that needed new signs or window lettering or vehicle lettering. I took the pictures back to the shop, did a few layouts for each and put together quotes for them. I'm a HORRIBLE...
  18. Guys...Please help when you have time.

Fatboy, something I've noticed is that you and another member here lean HEAVILY on effects when you try to design something. Stop with the gradients, and shadows, and glows. Design it simply in solid black and white. You can "see" it a lot better so you can check the balance and contrast...
  19. Quick, simple, effective marketing ideas?

I'll start another thread for the go big or go home discussion.
  20. Quick, simple, effective marketing ideas?

Apologize for what? The advice you offered is probably the best so far. I was just tossing this out there to see if somebody had discovered a little niche they were exploiting. The new direction is because I've just paid off the loan to buy my shop (in only three years) and realize that I...
