  1. Valuejet media sensor question

Hmmm? Keith has never let me down before. But if he's wrong on this one, I'll pull the Mutoh Certified ValueJet Technician certificate off his office wall. Kidding, of course. I'll get a clarification as soon as he's free. Best, Jim
  2. Valuejet media sensor question

Yes; you can disable the sensor via the standard menu (you don't have to go into engineering mode). Check the manual or call your dealer's support department. Good luck Addendum; from Keith in our color support: Press The MENU Button once Press the RIGHT Arrow Button once Press the...
  3. Epson Pro GS6000 Printer

Hi M, Jerry Barrax, our product manager, looked into further at SGIA and weighs in here: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?p=433800&posted=1#post433800 Best, Jim
  4. Mutoh ValueJet

Hi Casey, That's probably the one exception. There's no freight savings, overall. In fact, freight to the show and union labor to take it in an out of the hall means more money has been spent moving the show model around than would ever be spent shipping it to you from a dealer. But if...
  5. Mutoh ValueJet

You can get the same pricing after the show, probably from just about any dealer, including us (we're the largest, and we have the option of PrismJet VJ, which is even more affordable). But I can't get over the irony of "Show Price." LOL. A dealer puts people on airplanes, rents hall space...
  6. Mutoh ValueJet

Hi Jiarby, I'm hoping that GX and I are not warring here. I think my remarks were legitimately thought to have equated VersaCAMM and ColorCAMM, which GX rightly points out as absurd. (paraphrazing) In clarifying my remark to have meant that they are targeted to the same market / type of...
  7. Greetings from the Emerald City

Greetings, Jim! I'm in Texas, but as my co-workers frequently remind me, I ain't no Texun yet. I transferred here from Seattle (Lake Hills was the home front) in January. I was formerly VP of Summa in Seattle. In fact, before we were Summa, we were AirMark, an Ioline dealer. So I know...
  8. Gradients from corel to flexi!!!!

Sorry, Hud. Wish I could be more help. Common Flexi dudes! Someone knows :^)
  9. Gradients from corel to flexi!!!!

Hmmm? I don't use Flexi. But I'm wondering if building the gradient in it might fix the problem (anyone?). If so, don't apply a gradient in Corel. That'll save you welding the objects back into a single vector. Then apply the gradient in Flexi after importing the Corel EPS (no Tiff...
  10. Gradients from corel to flexi!!!!

I'd rebuild the gradient in Photoshop. When exporting a gradient from CorelDRAW to EPS or AI, it converts it to a bunch of vectors ... 256 of them, I believe. I know of no other solution. Sorry. Jim
  11. Mutoh ValueJet

Hi GX, Not class; market. It's a small-shop solution, as a printer-cutter. Get a laminator and a good cutter, and VC is a decent printer. You have your self a workflow. But it's not as fast or good as Mutoh VJ. Add a laminator and cutter to MVJ, you have a better workflow without wasting...
  12. Mutoh ValueJet

Hi Bob, I think and am consistent in my contention that Summa and Graphtec cutters are top notch. Graphtec has better cutting. Summa tracks likes it's on rails. Both have exceptional contour cutting. I extole Graphtec as more for the money inasmuch as Summa's Belgian manufacturing...
  13. Mutoh ValueJet

Correct. But we striongly advocate a dedicated cutter. It's not only better and more accurate cutting, especially with laminated prints, it's an equipment/productivity saver by orders of magnitude. Using the printer to cut, when it should be printing is not an efficient workflow...
  14. Mutoh ValueJet

I'm not at liberty to discuss dealer price (it's non-disclosed). So I'll defer to my earlier comment: I'm not aware of any new announcements :^) BTW, sounds like you got a good price, since I'm assuming you also received cleaning cartridges and a set of ink. Yeah? If so, $18,995 +...
  15. Mutoh ValueJet

    VJ1304 $14,995 w/ takeup VJ1614 $18,995 w/ takeup I'm thinking Mutoh might be trying to establish a street price ;^)
  16. Looking for suggestions on buying first plotter

I try not to tread too heavily on our Sales VP's turf, since anyone wearing sales colors coming onto my turf is getting a cap in their ... :^) Kidding, sort of. I should defer to our sales folks. Pete Wenger is the VP and one of my favorite cutter reps is Rebecca Hefner. First name dot...
  17. Mutoh ValueJet

I'd hope not. ValueJet's speed and quality advantage should be sufficient incentive to anyone that demands serious production capabilities. If it's more affordable that matters, we offer the Mutoh-made PrismJet VJ48, a 48" (print width) with FlexiSIGN-PRO, a complete design, rip, print, cut...
  18. Mutoh ValueJet

I thought of that. But that's hardly a mystery. The posts are pretty vague and anonymous. I wouldn't give them a lot of consideration. Trust me, if I knew something (we would) I'd tell you. The show starts tomorrow and is being set-up today. The kimono would be open by now even if Mutoh...
  19. Mutoh ValueJet

Hi Ryan, LOL. We speak with their boss, daily. What rumor are you guys trying to start? Thanks, Jim
  20. Mutoh ValueJet

It's a head-scratcher for me too. We're the largest Mutoh dealer in the US (maybe planet) and I know of no pending announcements. And we'd definitely get advanced notice.
