  1. Looking for suggestions on buying first plotter

Hi Mamos, 2 years, parts and labor (30 Day Warranty on consumables: blades, pens, teflon cutting mat, etc.). Thanks, Jim
  2. Looking for suggestions on buying first plotter

You should have no trouble with most cutters. Graphtec and Summa are the best, albeit, Graphtec when it comes to pure cutting is the superior of the two. Easier weeding would be the advantage of a high-quality cutter. Graphtec's CE series is a great, more affordable cutter. It's...
  3. Looking for suggestions on buying first plotter

Cut and weeded stickers? Or printed and contour-cut decals?
  4. Looking for suggestions on buying first plotter

Hi, This is a special we ran last month, but I'd honor it for you thru this month. http://www.signwarehouse.com/email/monthlydeals/ Best, Jim
  5. Hello from Chilly Alberta :0)

Howdy from warm and sunny Texas
  6. Print & cut comparison

I think you nailed it. Putting a cutting head on a printer doesn't make for a very good cutter. Media travel on printers was never intended to go both ways very well, which is why printer-cutters cannot cut anywhere near as well or fast as a dedictaed vinyl cutter. But you're not limited to...
  7. USCutter Laserpoint 24" Vinyl Cutter?

Then you're probably OK with an eBay/Made In China cutter. They'll do the job, albeit, you'll want to keep an eye on longer runs. Also, small text can be tougher to weed than it is on Graphtec and Summa (premium) or Roland (pro-class) cutters. To explain, there are a few cutter makers in...
  8. USCutter Laserpoint 24" Vinyl Cutter?

Are you cutting vinyl, or thinking in terms of contour-cutting digital prints?
  9. magnetic sign from signwarehouse

Hi KPC, Call or PM me tomorrow (long day; gotta find a couch and a beer). I'll get this sorted out. Best, Jim 800.699.5490 x 2162
  10. Im So Sick And Tired Of....................

Sounds great. I'm typically here at 7:30 CST ... I'm not quite the early bird that our support folks are.
  11. Im So Sick And Tired Of....................

This might be a moving target (nearly daily). I'm not sure, since marketing folk tend to be less technical, especially me. Mike Akard mentioned something about profiles being copied over from an older version (wrong); and that all new profiles have been created and added to SP2 (correct...
  12. Im So Sick And Tired Of....................

Hi PMG, I checked with our support manager, and here's what he wrote back: All fixes & new profiles are on the new 8.5 SP2 disk. We have them now. Contacting our support, via email (support@signwarehouse.com) or phone (800.699.5490) is probably the best solution. Best Regards, Jim
  13. Which ones i have to choose Mimaki CG160FX / CG160FXII or Graphtec f7000 / FC8000?

Hi Free, Not personally. However, I've had a fair amount of experience with my former employer, and now SignWarehouse, with folks upgrading to Summa (former employer) or Graphtec (current employer is the #1 Graphtec dealer) when the Mimaki cutter they got with their printer didn't quite meet...
  14. Which ones i have to choose Mimaki CG160FX / CG160FXII or Graphtec f7000 / FC8000?

Any of the following are good choices: Graphtec Graphtec Graphtec :^) Kidding a bit. But truly, Graphtec is widely regarded as superior, to all other cutters. The new-generation ARMS on the FC8000 widens its lead even more. The cut-quality, especially on thicker, laminated images is...
  15. Fc 8000

Hi Joe, Jerry Barrax, our product manager, should answer this, since to be honest, I too am confused. The main advantage of Package 4 v Package 1 is the software. LXi Master Plus has all the goodies, and is effectively the equivalent of FlexiSIGN-PRO minus a color RIP (printing to wide...
  16. Fc 8000

All cutters have firmware or they wouldn't initialize. (boot-up) The same is true of most coffee-makers. Flashable ROMs (Read Only Memory chips that can be rewritten) are what allows them to be changed instead of replaced with a new ROM chip. Not that this mind-numbing stuff is all that...
  17. Fc 8000

True enough. They're both best-of-breed products. But the Euro-Dollar exchange has artificially raised Summa prices to a point that - in today's market - Graphtec is pretty-much the no-brainer of the two. You can now buy Graphtec's Pro-class product for about the same as Summa's Cut-class...
  18. Fc 8000

Agreed, Case. I think we've ended it none too soon. Have a nice weekend, Jim
  19. Fc 8000

Indeed, Graphtec would not be the source for SignWarehouse Vinyl Express Q Series firmware updates. For someone who doesn't have and never would own a Q Series vinyl cutter, you seem to have a keen interest in them. May I ask why? Are you a user, or a dealer?
  20. Fc 8000

Contact our tech support. But I'm not sure what use the firmware would be to you, as you've stated you do not own nor would buy a Vinyl Express Q Series vinyl cutter. But you're better informed. So that's a plus.
