  1. A tip to remember...................................

Thanks for the tip Gino. Reminds me when we did a batch of mags for a lumber yard fleet. Trucks all had aluminum doors. DOH!!!
  2. window perf on vehicles lifting off!!!

Could be a bad roll of perf or something in the glass itself. Some windows will never be able to hold any material. Been there done that. Started asking questions. Suffice to say it is in the way the glass is made. My window film guy gave me the skinny on glass and potential issues. 5...
  3. Carbon fiber vinyl

Here's the link for Monza gloss: http://www.ultimatepremiumplus.us/gallery/1916GL
  4. Art Competition Piece

    Super detailed. :thumb:
  5. (Stupid?) question about white vinyl

Put register dots or squares in the corners of both colors. (unless I don't understand what you're doing...which is entirely possible)
  6. Carbon fiber vinyl

Arlon teamed with SOTT for their Ultra Premium Plus line. IIRC Monza Gloss Carbon Fiber is what you want. Think you have set up an account and order direct though.
  7. foot pump car ramps

For that kind of money I'd just get a mid or low rise lift. Much simpler, faster and they have wheels on them. Like this: http://www.mile-x.com/bend-pak-lr-60-low-rise-lift.aspx
  8. Blank wooden box sign source? Similar to the primitives subway art boxes?

These fine folks can probably do whatever you need: http://www.dufeckwood.com/gift_packaging.php
  9. How conformable is window perf?

With compound curves like that I use a touch of heat and take my time. In some instances it may help to preheat, let cool, then apply.
  10. Getting Ready to Take the Plunge -- What to Do About Health Insurance

Geographic area has a lot to do with premiums on the "exchange". But I see you're in WI so check into Prevea 360. Nice coverage for small coin. $210 a month for me and the missus. We got it through one of our HBBA members. We had Golden Rule before that, which had amazing coverage.(zero...
  11. Phototex for Templates

    Cool! Thanks for the tip.
  12. Banner only printer advice needed

To answer the initial question get a 54" machine and stock 54" and 36" 13oz and a roll of 36" anti-curl for retractable displays. But the truth is FatCat nailed it with Item 2 in his post. Sub-it-out. If we get an order for more than three 4x8's they get jobbed out. My last nugget of...
  13. Is education the answer?

One problem with the Letterhead movement dieing out was the old timers themselves. In my area they were more apt to stick a lettering quill in your eye than train you. IMO they're own arrogance is partly to blame for the demise although you will never get any of them to admit it. Part that...
  14. roland down and we have a large order

Although this won't help your present situation you may want to develop a relationship with a trusted shop. In dire emergencies I have a go to shop across town. They even refer their business to us when they are out of town on installs.
  15. Student needs help with movie poster recreation

Forgot to add our poster had to show almost no color shift when output in both RGB and CMYK.(that was worse than designing it) I can't remember the exact spec but it was brutal. I liked what my instructor had us do. I feel it is more representative of your abilities. Far too easy to identify...
  16. HELP! Looking for a semi-gloss Black vinyl to match OEM Dodge graphics

Only thing I can think of is a satin laminate.
  17. Student needs help with movie poster recreation

Pen Tool or Content Aware for background removal on woman in foreground.(2 right there) Blue border looks to have some type of filter applied. Blend Mode for border or overall Type Tool for kerning/leading Noise Filter to add scratches to man/woman in background Marquee Select then selective...
  18. Banner not really orange

Could be as simple as a bad roll of material. We print banners at high speed setting with our Roland with no issues. Could be a corrupt file too. If you want to make sure you're getting enough ink you'll have to get into Service Mode and do a Fill Test.
  19. A few good ones (Signs)

Tasteless coffee. LOL Looks like U.S. restaurants aren't the only ones.
