nope... 8 years now, going from Illy 8, through 9, 10, CS1,2,3 & CS4... I always get crisp clean lines... & I always convert text to outline & save as .ai files to import with the top import choice!

what does "transition correctly" even mean? are you intending to do spot printing, or cmyk? I would save as .ai ver 8, and import into Omega 2.6 (using the top, or highest .ai import filter choice) and then for spot printing, I always need to re-assign my colors anyway, so I select by color...

Adobe? how about telling us what kind of file, and what you need to do with it, and the goal in reducing size

I hope your contract includes enough commitment to purchase a significant enough amount of name tags, to justify the expense, based on whatever level of engraver purchase interest you already held, or viability of the equipment purchase to pay for itself (& your learning curve) outside of said...

when I ran engraving equipment, Meistergram & Hermes were 2 of the major players... one contract for name tags, justifies tooling up for an entire new production line in your business? Was this something you did a lot of outsourcing already, had a serious interest in bringing in house already...

I never used macimprint, but I've used Omega a lot & sometimes I would find that i have multiple copies of a contour right on top of each other... this can lead to all kinds of strange behavior as well as some serious confusion in trouble shooting... so you might try clicking on some contours &...

I'm not familiar with the Roland VP540 or the Summa T750, but my Mimaki sensor went out of alignment once & couldn't detect media width... so I bought a new one for $35 & when I went to put it in, I discovered mine was just aimed wrong, so I straightened it out, tightened it up & "poll size"...

I can't recall the format I started with, because it was a few weeks ago & that file is at home on my laptop... but I am editing a document & just discovered that my paragraphs are nicely spaced & typeset, with good continuity, as if done properly in a single text block... however through...

if you don't mind printing as raster, export as .tif & crop in photoshop, like I would do... but, if you want/need to print as vector... then you get to brush up on all your pathfinder tools :wink:

if you sort jobs by type, I would look at annual ink costs, & annual digital printing revenue... and i would have a percentage of price for my ink costs. I don't need to try to guess how many pennies are spent on each job... if I know I spend $3K on ink, for every $100K worth of printing...
