  1. Question What happens when a head cable gets pulled out when powered on

You brought up a good point. On some of the more recent models there is another fuse on the carriage board also known as a slider board. In general though slider boards don't normally go bad as they are closer to a junction board than having any real functions. That being said it can go bad so...
  2. xerox 8254

In these cases I always use a syringe to pull the ink down manually since it's on one color. This wastes less ink. The only thing you need to take care of is, since each color uses two dampers connected by a y connector, you either have to use two syringes and pull from each damper or clog one...
  3. Question What happens when a head cable gets pulled out when powered on

You can do damage even when the printer is unplugged. Tell him next time if he wants to work on the machine he needs to turn it off, unplug it, hit the power buttons a couple times and wait 15 minutes. You might be lucky and just need to clean the connectors with 90% alcohol. If the ink got on...
  4. Question What happens when a head cable gets pulled out when powered on

I have seen a couple fuses test positive while they are in the machine and then not when they are out of the machine so that could be the case. But if the fuses are good and you know for sure ink is flowing through the head during a cleaning cycle and the head still prints nothing, one of the...
  5. Question What happens when a head cable gets pulled out when powered on

It blows a fuse that causes the head to stop firing. It's on the main board near where the long cables that come from the slider board to the main board connect. I haven't had a chance to get the rating for that fuse yet but a lot of DX7 head machines use the 750mA fuses.
  6. Need Help Help - Window Perf ICC Profile

Yeah unfortunately the world of boxed profiles is pretty limiting. Too bad the manufacturer of the vinyl can't help you. They are really the ones who should have something for you as Mimaki can't profile every media in the world.
  7. Need Help Help - Window Perf ICC Profile

I guess it would help if I gave you the proper link for that model. Here it is. I have you the one for the CJV150 by accident.
  8. Need Help mutoh 1304 solid colour problem

What does your nozzle check look like? I would assume it's missing nozzle but if it's not, I would start cleaning the PF encoder and linear encoder with 70% alcohol. Also, if you push the down arrow key with media loaded it should move the media forward smoothly. If you do it and hear a thumping...
  9. Need Help Help - Window Perf ICC Profile

Here is a link to Mimaki's profile site. They have a ton there that you can play with. I haven't looked in a while but there might be a perf specific profile on there. By laying down too much ink do you mean it's pooling p or something? Usually with perf you are going to have wet ink on the...
  10. Need Help Mutoh VJ 1204 CPU Erroe Code 35

CPU errors in general mean the main board is malfunctioning. You could try air dusting the board to see if that helps.
  11. Vehicle Graphics in the wild North Slope of Alaska

My hiking companions could only get 2 weeks off so we are going to do about 170 miles of it. Might come back to finish it one day. My mom lives in NH so logistically it's pretty easy to get back out there.
  12. Need Help How to setup 30" vinyl on 54" Roland SP-540V

That is correct. So you have to move the media to a position where it will line up. The right pinch roller has a much larger valid area for that reason.
  13. Need Help How to setup 30" vinyl on 54" Roland SP-540V

The left pinch roller has to be on the edge of the material. This machine measures where the pinch rollers are not the actual media.
  14. Where do you get your Mimaki ES3 inks from?

You can order online at Solventinkjet.com. We don't have a lot of customers using that ink so we normally drop ship them from Mimaki to you which means they won't ship from Denver but from Atlanta.
  15. Any small networking gurus out there?

Check out this forum post. Looks like other people have run into this before.
  16. HP L330 DNS settings

I doubt it's the DNS settings. Usually when you don't input DNS settings it just defaults to the router's default DNS. Are you able to print to the printer? If not, I would say you have a general network issue.
  17. Mimaki CJV30-130 offset in width

These machines are fairly precise but not perfect enough to print a ruler with consistency. You can expect to see about +/- 3mm difference on an ~2.5meter print. Yours sounds like it might be off by more than that. You want to make sure the material is loaded as straight as possible. Clean the...
  18. Versacamm Sp300V clogged heads... then nothing... help...

Yeah they are tiny. If you purchase the fuse from me I will throw in a holder you can solder on. Just mention it in the notes when you checkout.
  19. Versacamm Sp300V clogged heads... then nothing... help...

You probably popped the head fuse. You want to make sure you work with the machine unplugged and discharged which usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Also just be very careful not to get ink on the cables and make sure they are plugged in nice and straight before turning the machine back on...

This is black reflective though so the crop mark will not be visible to the eye.
