I hear about people who run dye sub inks adjusting voltages on their machines but I'm not sure what that entails. The only Mimaki, Roland, Mutoh printers I have been trained on that covered changing voltages were the UV printers. Most of the DX series heads have set voltage requirements to fire...
Dampers: Mostly make sure to change out the o-ring on the damper between the damper and ink line and don't drop the o-ring! Use a screwdriver as a lever to push the damper off the head as straight as you can so it doesn't break the manifold. Wet the nipple on the manifold with cleaning solution...
It's probably your maintenance station. Usually the cap top just needs to be changed and if your machine isn't very old then that's probably all you need. The pump might be clogged as well so when you change the cap top, while you're in there you might as well flush the pump lines.
I believe that is actually an illustrator error and not specific to FineCut. A lot of people use FineCut but I think this error is specific to your setup because I have never seen it and I install these printers for a living. I would call Mimaki and see what they say.
Think of it this way, your working space profile tells the RIP, "This is where I am coming from. My gamut is such and such and I am specifically using the US COATED SWOP profile" and the output profile in the RIP is saying, "Ok if this is where they are coming, from then I am going to adjust the...
It does in a way. The working space profiles in your design program get embedded in the file when you save it except for EPS files and files where you specifically tell it not to. When the RIP processes the file it uses the working space profile embedded in your file along with the color profile...
I wouldn't do this if it were my machine but if you really want to do it, the guy in that post used 2 amp fuses for a machine that requires 1.6 amp fuses which is a big no no. Put the proper fuse in the machine and find the root cause of the short and you shouldn't have to replace fuses so often...
Most RIPs these days use the standard CutContour spot color to designate the cut path which is exactly how Flexi does it when you use the contour tool. So if you want to be sure, ask Caldera if they support that setup which I am assuming they do because pretty much all of the major RIPs do.
Firmware shouldn't have anything to do with FineCut working or not working. I would suspect that there is a setup issue. When you go into the FineCut settings and then the communication tab, does the machine's serial number show up in the USB drop down menu? If not, it is not seeing the...
This is what most people would think but it's not the case. The head can fail electronically and cause overspray. In fact, when the nozzle check is perfect and you get overspray it's almost always a sign that either the head is failing or you got bad ink. I usually change the head cables and...
