That's what I always tell my customers. The boxed profiles will print red reds and blue blues but if you want to choose a Pantone color from a swatch library and have it print the exact color without any adjusting or manipulation, you have to profile your own.

You might want to switch to a 60 degree blade if the material is thicker. If it is reflective you should absolutely be on a 60 degree blade. Also, make sure your cut strip is not damages and replace as necessary. Check the blade for a broken tip as well.

Unfortunately not anymore. Most of our customers work on their own machines and we only do tech work in the Colorado area. We do work with a few independent techs around the country but our guy in NC retired a few years back.

As a tech I see 3 to 5 years as an average for head life expectancy. It seems to be a combination of proper maintenance and pure luck. The oldest working head I have seen was 13 years old in a Mutoh ValueJet and the guy just kept really good care of it and ran the printer every day.
