Hello everyone!
We have a big sign project that spans two buildings. Most of the framed aluminum signage is flat. One sign is to be mounted on a curve. the building is curved, so that is my question.
how do i get a framed sign to be curved?
Specs:
1" square tubed aluminum with 3/4" gold trim...
nice rides
it would seem that a pickup is a great choice.
my bronco is almost done. this is the last winter i intend to use it for.
i want to go to my clients places and using the van gets nuts in boston.
Ever pass by a parking garage and giggle in a van?

happy snowmageddon!
the shop already owns a E250 ford with a rack on it
what kind of vehicle do you guys drive? i am starting to look for a personal vehicle and, well, i want to fit signs in it!
my bronco is really ready for retirement!!! (294,000 miles on it)
happy motoring!
to follow up, i was able to apply slow set to the area that lacked the leaf after posting this. problem is solved. i had to use a stiff brush to polish that to match the existing gold.
thanks for the responses!

store install1
i like the way this thread is going.
some observations-
1. i bet the installs are done when the store is closed. off peak hours should be more money.
2. don't forget parking fees.
3. Always make sure there is an extra graphic on hand ( as, you bring with) in case there is an...
only two posts in this folder/forum?
sigh.
1. A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: ''Ugh, that's the ugliest baby I've ever seen!'' The woman walks to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: ''The driver just insulted me!'' The man says...
wow. what a PIA.
i am trying to be able to "print" florintine gold by scanning a swatch and printing in with a mimaki.
the output is not even close.
The next step is to print ON the florintine gold.
Sigh. it prints, but the ink starts to bubble because clearly i am insane.
Does anybody have a...
Hello everyone!
my question is what trick and tips have you discovered to get customers to pay up signs they got when you were not noticing or looking, or, in your shop at the time, when they escaped with their sign order....
My A.R. has ballooned up a little too much for my liking.

lost dongle
alas, that is the question.
insurance or not?
"contractor is visiting family in ireland right now"
He has no clue the bill i am going to give him..
i ordered the dongle. Saint had confirmed this. normally they do not support 8.5.1 anymore, never mind build software for a mac...
Well, i experienced a new way one can lose a flexisign 8.5.1 USB dongle. on a mac.
its called water and stupid contractors.
it is a lot of fun. You come in to the shop in the morning and you see the computer room dripping in water. you find out the portable USB port is fried with a nice dongle...
After refacing the building and destroying all out old signs, the landlord initially said he would "split the cost of all new signs for myself and the other two tenants. No i receive an email saying, "your all on your own"
Advice? Thoughts? Suggestions??
Christopher
well, i got that fixed good.
1. use regular transfer tape.
2. use LOTS of rapid tac.
3. Squeegee slowly.
after flipping the sign over, there are no bubbles or streaks. i tried this the first stuff dry. that was a disaster.
Mr M.
i have not done this in so long when i did, it looked horrible.
either i need new squeegees, of i have to start lifting weights again.
there are streak marks on the black from the front side.
1. should i do this wet?
2. i used clear tape. is that right?
3. what should i clean the acrylic with...
i was immediately lost and felt like i foreigner.
the following occurred within the first (about) ten minutes:
1. Social security showed up at my workplace and handed me money.
2. Obamacare representatives called and asked what address to send my healthcare card to.
3. i felt like Rush Limbaugh...
when building a 1"tubed framed sign with ".75 3/4" inch anodized molding, you mostly use .040 aluminum as your backer. When dealing with oversized signage, AKA 30' long, you must use three ten foot panels of aluminum.
i am asking anyone about switching those panels, with a 30' piece of...
So, has anyone done this? aluminum only comes a certain length, and i would like to think using a 172" long lexan face would be a alternative?
there would be no seam.
are there any downsides besides weight?
thanks in advance..
