  2. Covering large windows with vinyl. Safe?

Why not use window perf for this? Then there won't be any issue at all. Gary
  3. logistics for printing & installing 150 foot long banner?

I agree with a few posts here. The logistics aren't terrible, and the banner will hold up fine, as long as you distribute your anchors(grommets) adequately. Every 12-16" should do the trick. Now, installation logistics are the interesting issue. Are you a one-man shop? If so, it's going to be...
  4. Font or custom design?

It is custom. The a's are elements from BenBlogged's logo element vector pack. Gary
  5. To Laminate or Not To Laminate...That is the Question

The only time we dont' laminate is for interior signs that will be mounted out of reach, or short term yard signs. Gary
  6. how do you

Are you asking how to program a web-app that allows for this type of functionality? This is a Flash app. It's all about programming. Gary
  7. printer choice

I'm a proponant of Mutoh. I've used a Roland, an Epson and a Mutoh, and IMO the Mutoh wins hands down. Gary

  11. Pricing window perf.

You dont' HAVE to laminate the perf. There are pros and cons. That being said, I would probably laminate it. We get $10/sf designed and installed for perf and for vehicle graphics (digitally printed). Gary
  12. "Oh Buddy, you are WAAAY off!"

Banners for $2/sf???!!!??? I dont' WHOLESALE that cheap, and we do a decent amount of wholesale business!!!!
  13. "Oh Buddy, you are WAAAY off!"

I wouldn't worry a bit about it. Idiots like that are all kinds of fun. I would have told him "We can cut the vinyl for you, and you can apply it yourself. That would be about $75". If that didnt' do the trick, out the door. Gary
  14. laminator

We use a 55" Royal Sovereign. Seals are great, but they are a TON of cash. Unless you are running alaminator pretty much non-stop, a RS or GBC will do the job just as well, for about 60% of the price. Gary
  15. Wholesale CNC Letters & Logos

I would definitely be interested in a price list when you have it finished. We are always looking for vendors who can fill in gaps for us, or who are so competetive price wise that we would be foolish to use anyone else. Gary
  16. Need some ideas

There isnt' a ton you can do. I would call my sales reps for the suppliers I use and see if they have any partial or short rolls of lam that they would be willing to give you. The only way you'll have luck on that though, is if you spend a decent amount of money with them consistently. 100...

Are you in the sign or graphic design business, or are you trying to get hard earned information and knowledge from those of us who are, in order to avoid paying a local provider for that knowledge? Gary
  18. The Woes of Printing . . . [RANT]

ROFL...I've had my fair share of those as well. Just be glad you're not dealing with a wrap customer...Ugh. Gary
  19. biz cards

We get $85/1000 and $65/500. That's on 14pt. glossy stock, up to full color both sides, UV on both sides if desired. Even includes rounded corners if they want. Gary
  20. Rant: Why do customers wait until last minute?

I for one have never had a problem with "last minute" orders. I LOVE them. Because I charge about 50% more for the job. The old saying will be true forever. There are three variables in business. Good, Fast, and Cheap. You can have any two, but you can't have all three. Gary
