  2. Printing on Dry Erase Boards

Off topic a bit here, but we had some permanent marker lines on one of our dry erase boards here. We learned that if you draw over the permanent marker (Sharpie) with a dry erase marker, you can erase the whole thing. Kind of interesting how the inks react with each other...
  3. Flatbed Printing On Dura-bond and Metals

Yes it does make a difference. Grimco sells a MaxMetal Digital Grade. For Omegabond, the Digital grade is ePanel. Just about all the manufacturers of Aluminum composite have an economy grade and a digital-type grade that is about $20-$30 more per sheet. It's worth it.
  4. Printing on Sintra/Polystyrene

It's not just the solution (99% Isopropyl Alcohol should work) but the wipes too. Try these: Kimberly-Clark Professional Wypall L30 Wipers - 13" Length X 12-1/2" Width, White, 90 Wipers Here's a larger pack: Kimberly-Clark Wypall L30 DRC Wipers, 12" Length x 12-1/2" Width, White (12 Packs of 90)

  6. Credit Card Processing WTF?

We use PayPal and are very happy. We have a pretty good plan set up with them. If you do more than $10,000 a month and take a larger percentage of online or phone CC payments, PayPal is a good option. (And I don't mean making our customers use PayPal, we accept credit cards just like any other...
  7. This guy is pretty serious about making an illegal sign.

I wonder if he'll be a highway sign maker in jail.

  9. Now, that's low..................................

40 cents is probably a gimmick. But let's just say a company had a $700,000 printer that could run 4000sqft/hour. 140 working hours in a month: Monthly Payment per hour - $150/hour 4 Operators - $200/hour Machine Maint - $50/hour Rent & Utilities for the space needed - $100/hour Material Cost...

  11. Now, that's low..................................

There's a fine line between a crappy business model and a good one. It all comes down to sales and production efficiency. I think this is a really good reason why the trade printer/broker relationship is a solid one. For most of us, focusing on both a high level of personalized service and a...
  12. Ready for a new RIP....What's best?

I think you're going to get a lot of vague answers. Best is a tough term to answer. I'll probably get bombarded for this, but to me, Onyx "feels" more like a PC and Caldera "feels" more like a Mac. The equipment you're using is pretty important too. If you are going to buy a new printer, you...
  13. Staples is selling vinyl?!?

They made their case that they don't have a monopoly. They would have about 10 years ago, but between Sams, Costco and Amazon they are working hard to keep the business. I for one don't buy much there anymore.

  16. Custom cut .063 aluminum

How many do you need? What diameter are the holes? Radius or square corners?
  17. Need some help with two banners...

We're in a service industry. Reputation and repeat business are the only way to make it in my opinion. You should reorder the banner for your customer at the correct size. From a mm prospective we would have reprinted it for you for free or a discount, whatever you thought was fair. We...
