  1. Logo Resolution Problems

You could painstakingly try to completely recreate the logo in a vector format but you would have to charge at least $50 per hour for that service. However, most companies actually have the original vector file and just are too lazy to find it and send it to you. I used to tell customers that...
  2. Discounted Mimaki SB54 Dye Sub Inks

We had a customer who regularly used these inks but has since gone out of business. We have two liter pouches we need to offload at a discounted price. See below: SB54 2liter Bag Yellow - $160 SB54 2liter Bag Black - $160
  3. Sign Warehouse Q54 more expensive than 54" Graphtec...... how?

Not if you buy it from Graphtec. Graphtec has their own software. Sign warehouse is adding about $900 just to have software when the Graphtec comes with it for free.
  4. Removing die sublimation from Aluminum

Heat it up to 400 degrees and let it sublimate again. I have never done this and don't know if it will work but it makes sense to me!
  5. Need Help gs6000

Check the fuses again to make sure they didn't just blow again. If something blew them before the new board and you didn't fix that issue before changing the board, it will just blow the fuse again. Most likely a bad head cable or another cable along the way. There is also a possibility that...
  6. Bypass printing and use as cutter? CJV30-130

Try changing the head cables on the head especially if they are dirty or damaged. That could be causing the error.
  7. Mimaki jv150-160 1bc halt system

If the head was replaced and this error popped up afterwards, the head is damaged. Especially if all of the test points tested positively. The error is basically saying either the head or the board is bad so if the board tested well then it has to be a bad head. Check your head cables and...
  8. Sign Warehouse Q54 more expensive than 54" Graphtec...... how?

It's the software. Signwearhouse is adding the extra cost on for the software which is way overpriced for a vinyl cutting software.Just buy the Graphtec which comes with it's own software. It's a sales technique. The machine is cheaper and they add the software that you don't need and they just...
  9. Need Help gs6000

That's a classic blown head fuse on the main board. You have to unplug the printer and let it sit for 15 minutes before working on it. If you don't, the printer holds a residual charge and blows the fuses when you bump the head cables. Unfortunate;y those fuses are solder only and don't have a...
  10. v540 normal or medium clean daily

Yes the cap tops could just be worn out and you need new ones. They are considered consumables and should be changed once per year and, as they are some of the cheaper parts on the machine, there is really no reason not to change them yearly. Also, your dampers are the same. They should be...
  11. Fluo yellow

I agree with the above post. There just isn't any way you will get even close. Florescent yellow is requires either a light source or special pigments that just aren't in the inks these printers use. You can get a very yellow yellow but it won't ever come close to florescent.
  12. SP540V slow printing (head stops at each end for few seconds)

Hook a cable directly from your computer to your printer and try to print something. If you have an operating system that is windows XP or lower you will need a cross over cable for this but if you have a newer version any Ethernet cable will do. If the printer prints fine, your router is...
  13. One printhead doesnt print - roland sc500

It's not a glass fuse like you are used to. It's a ceramic one that is like a little black square. It should be labeled on the board as F1 or F2.
  14. One printhead doesnt print - roland sc500

You blew a fuse on the main board during the head install. You are going to have to solder a new one on. I believe the fuses on that machine are 2amp.
  15. Capacitors

Anytime you do anything with a main board you should back up parameters. It's just good practice. It takes 2 seconds and could save you in a bind.
  16. w9's

Our W9 PDF is on my desk top. Whenever someone asks for it I just send it. Half the time I don't even change the date. They really just need your tax id number at the end of the day.
  17. Cap Station or No Cap Station

Interesting. So do the heads just float up in the air with nothing surrounding them? Like completely exposed?
  18. Employee Morale

+1 on paying a livable wage and being understanding of, a reasonable amount, of mistakes. People make mistakes and if you berate them on the first one they will never learn and will resent you. That being said, if they make the same mistake a bunch of times and don't show motivation to fix or...
  19. Need Help Lamination for UV prints

UV prints almost always require heat assist for pressure sensitive laminates in order for them to lay down into the texture. If you don't have heat assist, that's the problem not the laminate. You can also use a spray laminate but hat gets messy.
