  1. Mimaki Jv300-160_Mimaki ES3 - ICC Profiles

If you want to hit Pantone colors with accuracy and consistency you have to make your own profiles. It's as simple as that. There are a few work arounds that work fairly well like printing out Pantone charts and then manually matching colors by eye but if you want to be able to select a Pantone...
  2. Need Help Printing Temperatures

It's going to be different for everyone but the general rule is, go as hot as you can without buckling. For me, on regular calendared vinyl, that temp is usually 33 pre 35 plat and 50 post.
  3. Mutoh VJ1624 [KCMY] S/C Read Error

Yeah Mutoh cards can go bad sometimes and just need to be replaced. Contact the person you buy the ink from and they can put in a request to Mutoh to have new cards sent out. If the new cards fail, you probably have a bad heater junction board. It sounds unrelated but heater junction board is...
  4. Questions about Lubrication of Mutoh 1204

The Mutohs do have cleaning and greasing the rail as a routine maintenance item. You are correct though that it is a very thin layer of grease you want to lay down. Putting too much on can cause issues.
  5. Questions about Lubrication of Mutoh 1204

That's about it. You can grease the wiper rail and that fixes wiper jams but nothing else really needs it.
  6. MY ROLAND SC540 WON'T ACCEPT MY SCAN SIDE VALUES

Press - Down, Right, Left, Up, Right, Down, Left and then press and hold left, down and right at the same time while powering on. You have about 5 seconds to get that all in for it to work.
  7. Need Help Mimaki software

You can also download Rasterlink and it gives you a 30 day trial. If that is the software you are going to be using you might as well do that. Just got to Mimakiusa.com and it's in the downloads section.
  8. Printing and cutting colored vinyl

Sometimes you need a color that you can't print. I had to print some warning labels that had to be neon orange. Since you can't print that color, I just printed on neon orange vinyl.
  9. Need Help What Removable/Replaceable Vinyl will not ruin Direct to Substrate Prints

Any wall vinyl will work fine. Sign Ad from Mojave has always worked really well for me. That is a printable vinyl. If you just want to use cut vinyl and not print, FDC 4300 should work fine.
  10. MY ROLAND SC540 WON'T ACCEPT MY SCAN SIDE VALUES

Go in to service mode and run the encoder setup and the encoder calibration. If either of those fail, you might need a new encoder strip, sensor and/or servo board. If they complete without any error messages, go back to the user side menu and run the environmental match. If that completes...
  11. Vp-540 head issue

If you see any physical damage on the bottom of the head, such as gashes, scrapes or dents, it is likely unrecoverable. It's not 100% but it is close. Small scratches are not always a clear sign but it is the sign of an older head. Also, as a last resort you can flush the head with a syringe and...
  12. Printing and cutting colored vinyl

Does the cutter have a sensor sensitivity adjustment? A lot of the time you just need to up the sensitivity when printing on non-white substrates.
  13. Need Help Help! Error opening port

What we will need to know is, does the Graphtec connect via the network or is it USB? Most Graphtecs use USB. If it is hooked up to the network, you will need to find out what the internet guy did. Did he change the router? It's most likely the router settings were changed and just need to be...
  14. SP 540V heads not moving?

I looked in the tech manual but didn't see those errors listed. Anyway, motor errors almost always tend not to be the motor believe it or not. If something smells burnt, try to locate the location of the smell. I would place my bet on the servo board. If you can locate the smell you should be...
  15. Need Help Two Colors, One Pantone, Same Document

When using pantone colors, usually you can set a percentage for how light or dark you want the color. This is used a lot on packaging because if you are limited to using 1 or 2 colors for the design, you can get the effect of more colors by using different percentages of the same color. If you...
  16. CJV150-160 Print/Lam/Cut Problem

A lot of people just take the cutter out of the box and expect it to cut perfectly but it needs to be adjusted just like a printer. If the cut length is wrong, you need to run the 400mm square adjustment. You are supposed to do it with a pen because it's easier to see but you can still pull it...
  17. vj 1624

Since you changed everything, the best way to refill the machine is to run a couple little charges from the cleaning menu. This will tell you if you did everything right because if the ink doesn't move or maybe all of the colors move except for one, you don't have to guess at what's wrong. So...
  18. Printing Neon colors

Nope. Even with good design practices and perfect color control you won't ever come close to a neon color with a Mutoh or any other CMYK based printer. You could technically achieve it if you had the capability to produce your own inks and then reprogram the machine to print it as a spot color...
  19. Color mixing

It's called cross-contamination and it usually happens if the maintenance station is clogged or not draining fast enough. Make sure your waste tubes are flushed and watch the waste tubes to see if ink is flowing through during a cleaning cycle. If nothing moves through, start by replacing the...
