  1. Handyman taking sign work away?

unless you know the person and know they are too cheap to buy a real sign, don't be so hard on them. people have lost their jobs and have no income. it could be a person doing their best to take care of themselves and their family. given the choice of paying for food or buying a sign, what...
  2. Traditional, hand carved, ribbon sternboard

    wow, that's nice.
  3. I'M RE-BRANDING. Thoughts on new logo?

post #10 without the first bullet before signs as that looks weird. the colors look best in that version. like how the mountain is blue and the word signs then you pull down the color in the bullets so it nice and balanced.
  4. I'M RE-BRANDING. Thoughts on new logo?

looks good. you still have the tight kerning that you like but it is a lot cleaner looking.
  5. I'M RE-BRANDING. Thoughts on new logo?

the kerning is way too tight to make any sense to anyone looking at this from more than right in front of their face. at least do something with the spacing between the "L" and the second "O" in Colorado. it's like all the letters are shoved together except that one spot. I like the set up of...
  6. Whole House Humidifier

is there a website or forum for parents of children with asthma? if so, that might be a good resource for info as you can get some feed back from other parents on what brands are good. you might also want to contact some of the bigger companies like Honeywell to see what they have to say. are...

  9. Asked to do presentation about signs for advertising, need some advice!

my boss travels around to all kinds of groups doing this. he uses info from the ISA which comes in handy as it has stats concerning the advertising side of a sign vs print or other media ads. if you belong to the ISA, they have some really good materials. if not, stress the 24 hour a day...

  12. Okay... Who took my straight edge?

a 9' straight edge can hide, trust me, my 6' one does all the time. they are masters of disguise.

  14. Spell check may not be enough

  15. Spell check may not be enough

OK, I must be hving a bad case of stupid because I don't see anything wrong with that. help out a blond and tell me so my head doesn't explode:Big Laugh
  16. Spell check may not be enough

not seeing what's wrong as the photo is too small to read the smaller copy. is that where the problem is?
  17. New logo

no, I give them one. the reason is I spend time asking questions. I could care less if they like the color blue or want something on an arc to "dress" it up. I ask about who their customer's are as that is really who you are designing for. if a guy loves pink, Old English, all upper case on...
  18. Baby, it's cold outside!

Hyde Park? your wife sure knew cold as it's always colder in the boonies. I grew up in so. Burlington then moved to Enosburg. some how, I totally missed that fact that Enosburg is one of the colder spots in the state. it also is close enough to Jay Peak to get in on the "largest natural snow...
  19. vinyl failure on glass - second time

2009? what the heck? must be Jim Hill didn't notice the original date. soooo, how did this work out if you can remember that far back?
  20. vinyl failure on glass - second time

it's calendar vinyl and not cast? most likely that is the issue as calendar vinyl is kind of cheap junk used for temp signs even if it says it lasts a few years, I wouldn't use it on a vehicle. do you have any cast that you can use? replace it with that to see if it stays.
