  1. Small PVC Letter help

Just a thought, would a vacuum table work well with a router?
  2. Vector Logo Size

I usually just use a letter size artboard, mainly for ease of printing. Letter size and stroke are independent of artboard size. I think 100pt stroke is 1" and depending on your font, either 72 or 100pt is 1" letter height.
  3. Great Tongue-Twister

That is not a great tongue twister. Wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man... is. Or the classic answer to "So what about your mother, what does she do?" "She sells seashells by the seashore".
  4. How Do I Do this!? Complex Illustrator Layer Question.

On most files: Select all, then go to the Object drop down, and select Clipping mask, then release. You might have to do this multiple times. I also like to then create an object with no fill or stroke. Select this object and then go to the Select drop down, and select Same, Fill and Stroke. You...
  5. strange color codes

it's called hexidecimal, and I used to build enough webpages that I could mentally mix colors with it, lol.
  6. First Hand Painted Signs

When in doubt, in a situation like this, just put your signature in the lower right-hand corner. This turns it into a piece of art rather than a sign, so it can only be "critiqied" by those who are not artists such as the business owners. This gives you the ability to claim artistic desicion and...
  7. Font ID

Looks like refrigerator magent to me, lol.
  8. Beverage of choice?

Hop Stoopid IPA (only in 22's of course) Busch Water (In that order)
  9. Offset Inks Versus Solvent Inks Durability

I am doing one right now on cast with cast laminate, so I'm hoping for 5-7 but we shall see. Also printing two coats of ink with the return to origin feature.
  10. Problems working with illustrator!!!!

Could be way off here, but have you tried a Select All / Object > Clipping mask > release and repeat a couple of times. Some .pdf and other files that have been saved for smallest file size have transparent clipping masks around multiple unrelated objects.
  11. Virus Scare . . .

I save everything important to removable media. I run a barebones system software wise, with two instances of Windows installed on the same drive. If one gets messed up, boot up the other and fix it with tools saved on removable media, or just snatch them from the other windows folder on the...
  12. anyone know anything about this banner product?

Heavy rolls of media such as you describe can be over the reccomended roll weight limit provided by the printer mfgr. I had simmilar issues with a heavy roll, caused by media buckeling, solved by pre-unrolling heavy media rolls. Medial buckeling probably caused your print head to scrape that...
  13. changeable opening hours sign

Suggestions? Don't do work for head shops, lol. They can never figure out when they can be consistant.
  14. Layout Critique

If you are printing that thing throw some more gradient color fades and simulated depth into the mix. Solid color shadows are weak.
  15. Pool graphics? Anyone try this?

Or put your graphic down and then roll a bunch of coats of clear sealant over the whole thing, making sure the edges are water-tight. Test whatever you use first for compatability.
  16. A little help getting started, please.

Control + A, rotate 90 degrees. Or turn your plotter 90 degrees, lol.
  17. New HP Designjet L25500 Series Printers

So it uses more power than a solvent printer. The ink is more expensive. The video shows a bunch of parts you have to replace all the freaking time. It doesn't contour cut, it just prints. The prints don't even last any longer than solvent prints. What was the real benefit again?
  18. Ticket / Badge Layout

At first glance the work Craft in the banner looks influenced by World Of Warcraft logos. That's about all I got, pretty good really.
  19. Licensing Question

Clipart.com is a great paid subscription service. Have the customer look up what they want and give you the file number, and you have access to print ready files.
  20. Thoughts on this

Mechanics wouldn't use a 12pt wrench on a 6pt bolt. Looks silly. And wourk on the bolt head a little more, or make it a nut with a bolt being swrewed through it from the other side. Maybe lighten up the wrench with a more complex gradient / bevel. Maybe try replacing the black outline with a...
