Ok, I can't seem to match this one.
The letters are 2" laser cut acryllic, which don't match anything in the gemini typestyle catalog. Garamond, Palatino, and Cheltinham are close, but I haven't quite got it yet.

Take a screen shot of your settings dialog box and I might be able to help from there. I use an old tangential summa cutter daily. 70g/force with the cutting speed about 50% of maximum should do the trick.
I had a long post typed out about how I do this in Illy, but I realized that it takes like 6 steps. There are dozens of ways to do this, but in the end, does number of mouse clicks really make a difference? Get comfortable with your software, and you will be efficient.
I think this is caused when the stoke of your cutline is set to the inside or outside of the path, rathen than center over it. This is in your stroke settings toolbox.
