  1. Omega 2.6 users (question)

SignSol, that's a good idea. But since all computers in my shop are networked, what harm would there be in saving it as a 2.6. Then, if that particular file needs to be run on alternate equipment from our other design station, why not then and only then, save it down? Or, once it's saved down...
  2. Omega 2.6 users (question)

Ok, but are you saying that files thus created MUST be saved down to 2.1? That 2.6 files cannot be opened by 2.1? (unless saved down)? Island, couldn't be sure with your "yep", if you were agreeing to earlier posts regarding the better features, or if you were saying the files could be opened...
  3. Omega 2.6 users (question)

Do files saved in Omega 2.6 open and cut/print ok with earlier versions of Omega such as 2.1. We're contemplating purchasing only one upgrade to 2.6. But the files then created need to be cuttable and printable from a design station that only has 2.1 loaded. Anyone know for sure?
  4. Gerber sales team

Oh...and Marlene. Can you tell me what the single most significant feature is in Omega 2.6? For your shop?
  5. Gerber sales team

Ok, thanks. That helps put this in perspective.
  6. Gerber sales team

Well, well, well. I responded to an advertisement sent to me via email from Gerber informing me of the release of Omega 2.6. I asked a question about the product. This was Nov. 7, 9:36am. I said I was interested, but needed some clarification. Today the 12th I get notice back that they "have...
  7. Any Deals for 2.5 Omega Upgrade?

Oh...and by the way. We're still running 2.1 on two design computers and one demo version at the front counter. I emailed Gerber Customer Support with a question about 2.6 yesterday. We'll see if they bother to answer this potential client. (yes, I'm thinking of upgrading) Might as well spend...
  8. Any Deals for 2.5 Omega Upgrade?

I just got an email yesterday from GSP and I thought it said they were offering 2.6 for free to 2.5 users. You should always check with them before making a deal with their reps. My opinion.
  9. Exporting EPS to Versaworks

There may be something not quite right with the printer. An .eps file at 150 dpi should produce a nice solid color. Even and consistent. You should not see dots.
  10. Exporting EPS to Versaworks

Are you exporting raster images as .eps files? Or are they simple vector images? We export vector files to VersaWorks all day long, everyday as .eps files. We usually export raster files as .tif images, unless they have a cutline on them and then they have to go as .eps files.
  11. AC show?????

    Ac?
  12. No More Dongle Key

Rep, your comments make sense, the part about having a "softkey" or internet access key. I don't think I'd be interested in that either for the reasons mentioned above. And as far as upgrading, maybe there's a limit to a "draw" program's "usefulness". I mean, once it's capable of certain...
  13. No More Dongle Key

How will that help SW companies invest in upgrading their stuff? Please explain.
  14. No More Dongle Key

Rep, you might think that way, but it's not so. The 3-4 thou only bought you a license to use the software. You don't own anything more than the disk itself, the tutorial, and the box it came in. Oh..and the dongle. Others: Flexi doesn't sell as many copies of their sign-specific software as...
  15. does any one know ware can i get the sevice manual for SP 540V

I guess I could scan our "user's manual". It's only 118 pages. Unless you mean something else. All we got with ours was the "set-up guide" and the "user's manual". Refer to the manual fairly often.
  16. Hey Guy's, Jay at SignMaster.com says hello

Welcome to the forum. Our shop shares the same business name as yours.
  17. Merry Christmas

You'll want to save the box somewhere.
  18. Parser module cannot parse the file.

Yup, that was it. Gradients aren't handled well by Omega's export filter, I guess. Thanks Fred.
  19. Parser module cannot parse the file.

Also, related issue. As I mentioned, I like to layout in Omega. But if I can't export as an .ai file, (for whatever reason) then I must export as .tif or .bmp both of which shift the colors. The background white is not white but rather comes into PS as 6-3-4-1 CMYK model. Still another...
  20. Parser module cannot parse the file.

I use the one at the top. But there is gradient on a couple of shapes, could that be it? BTW, this is the very file you helped me with, Fred.
