  1. my 10 year olds first logo

Tell him not to use that car shape up top. I just tried to tell someone not to use it the other day on here but they didn't listen. :) Hey for 10 years old it is better than a lot of people's stuff I've seen. Buy him both Mike Steven's and Dan Antonelli's books, get him trained right and do...
  2. Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Art.

Mine was soooo good Gino. I think it was the best pie I ever made. It was a moist bottom. hahaha
  3. Rookie signmaker, or customer directed?

Holy crap! hahahhaha Now that, my friends, is two of my favorite sayings rolled into one: A polished turd which is busier than a cat trying to cover sh!t on a marble floor. :) Love....Jill
  4. envision plotter cutting crisis

Just thinking out loud, since I only ever had a 4B and 4E but not an Envision (sigh) My plotter did something similar when it it needed a good cleaning. Where the rubber roller was, sometimes a tiny little bit of vinyl from the perforations would stick and cause a problem. However, maybe an...
  5. Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Art.

Darn it now I had to go and bake a pie when I was supposed to be up in the garage with a jig saw. This is my first ever Shoo Fly pie, it probably looks better than it tastes. Bob it means "We get too soon old and too late smart", no gumbands. Gino might be right about messing with the...

Now I'm hankering for a piece of shoe fly pie. Ve get too soon oldt undt too late schmart.
  7. Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Art.

Distelfink Folk Art Amish art Anything?
  8. Trailer I designed and applied

First the nice part. I love the little bugs. Next the critique. Is it "The Grasshopper 1000?" Because those look like two completely different elements. The top font choice is very weak, and very crammed to the edges. A thicker letter style, perhaps in caps and lower case, with no arch may...
  9. Pennsylvania Dutch Hex Art.

Bob would you believe I used to have a whole stencil kit of these things. Someone in my family who made these things in the 1960s gave them to me but it always seemed too big of a PITA to try. I tossed them out a few years ago. Try Googling "Hex Signs" you may have a bit of luck. Love....Jill
  10. another logo

Well if the custy likes stretched fonts and a car outline by all means let him have it. Are you charging him for all your design time or just doing this out of the goodness of your heart? Google Image Search
  11. A thank you

That's just how Al is. I will never forget the day I met him, he showed up at a meet I was hosting in 2000 about an hour before it ended. It was friends at first sight. If only more people could be like him. Love....Jill
  12. Wind slit placement

Found two depictions of what not to do! Love....Jill
  13. Explain your avatar / name

Childhood nickname, I keep going back to this avie which is cropped from a naughty 1920s postcard. (oops nevermind, I forgot I changed my pic to my grandma! hahahahaha) I have always liked the pic in your avie, Dr. Vector. Love....Jill
  14. Where to find a Roast beef sandwich????

I have served hundreds of those things. Although I hate 'em, it seems to be a general favorite comfort food for lots of folks.
  15. I just caught a little mouse in my house!!!!

We have mice this year. We also have a cat but it's really stupid. She caught the wee sleekit beastie, but just carried it around in her mouth. Her jaws had to be practically pried open so the mouse could be released outside. Ever try to do that to a p!ssed off growling cat? I try to get...
  16. 2010 Nor'easter?

My circumstances have changed. I am now going to be a grandma. (yes it's the "hot" daughter) I would be afraid to travel too far from home in case she needs me. So I will have to sit this one out.
  17. Logo and intro

"D-Signs" works for Dan Antonelli but he's like the fricking Chuck Norris of layout. I am glad you are trying the suggestion of making it be "designs" because it's just easier for customers who are already wondering about the Foghorn part. :)
  18. Where to find a Roast beef sandwich????

What you are actually looking for is called a Hot Roast Beef Sandwich. (at least that's what it sounds like to me, I worked in a diner as a teen) Perhaps just adding that one adjective will aid in your search. Love....Jill
  19. another logo

The car outline thing has been done in a lot of logos. And Danville looks as if it's been stamped upon. Try to avoid stretching fonts to fit.
  20. Striping?

Graphitek maybe? Someone here recommended them to me years ago and I was quite pleased. Love....Jill
