  1. Quick question about terminology.

Thanks. You know we throw words around, as insiders, and often don't think about whether they're understood by the "lay" person. I'll await more comments, before I design my "wrap".
  2. Quick question about terminology.

We are getting ready to wrap our shop truck. And of course I've been agonizing over the exact verbage I want on there. Here's my question: Is the word "wrap" so very understood by the public, that using that word on the vehicle would be easily connected to the idea of wrapping a vehicle with...
  3. Moral Dilemma

Thanks for serving. Wife and I have one Marine, one Army. Here's my take on this: If you work for a man, for God's sake work for him! Don't compete with him. Any job you take on is a potential job for the shop. Finally, I DO allow my number one guy to have at some of the stuff I'm not...
  4. New update to VersaWorks

You know, that's a good idea. Where is that setting?
  5. New update to VersaWorks

Fired up the RIP this morning and got a notice that there's an update available. It's been downloading for the last 10 minutes or so. Anyone know anything about it?
  6. Edge Print has hairline mis-printed

Yep, been there done that. Ceramic heads are pretty rough on the pocketbook. Like others have said, clean first, test print...cry.
  7. Photoshop print/cut flow?

Stan, there are any number of tutorials available for PS. I think I've got one called PS for dummies or something like that. I"ve also got WOW for PhotoShop 7.0. (it's a Photoshop Bible) I consult it probably more than anything. The VP, Video Professor has a few CD's out there, and I've got them...
  8. shadow'n

No flamin' here. If you are cutting vinyl letters, cut the shadow first. You can make it an outline/shadow which can look very nice or a relief (stand away) shadow. The relief shadows are harder to weed in my opinion. The outline/shadows are nice because it gives you automatic registration when...

  10. GS-15plus knife dragging - ruins prints!

No genius. Just had it happen, oh.. say...100 times to me.
  11. GS-15plus knife dragging - ruins prints!

Hey, from a Buckeye (formerly). Check the little washer under the knife. If it's fallen out it could be the culprit. It's the little neoprene? washer. If it's out it will make the blade lower into the toolholder by the thickness of the washer. I don't know, just an idea.
  12. What gets you to the shop and back?

'06 Toyota Tundra. Getting ready very soon to wrap 'er. Will post photos.
  13. Hey-Yo!

Did you say Bahston? lol. Greetings from the Great Pacific Northwest where it never rains.
  14. Versacamm is all jacked up

Sorry to learn of your troubles. Cleaning is super important and also running the machine in as clean an environment as possible. These machines are wonderful, but they won't take any kind of abuse on the print heads. My advice is to please try to run your machine once a week at the minimum...
  15. HELP! Problem printing on magnet material!

Sorry for your misfortune. My machine allows for a height adjustment, but we don't use it, even though the tech says you can print magnetic material. It's just too risky. Heads are $850 bucks each for my machine. Perform some tests to see if they're is any damage. Certainly contact your...
  16. Hey there!

    Welcome from the great Northwest!
  17. GBC Laminator... I need to learn the finer points of adjustments

Here ya go, Doug. I hope this helps.
  18. GBC Laminator... I need to learn the finer points of adjustments

Doug, you definetly have it webbed wrong. We have the GBC Titan also. If you'd like, I can ask Jeff to photograph how it goes and either post the pic or pm it to you. Also, be sure you don't run Kraft heavier than 30lb. (but that's not your problem, I don't think) Finally, you'd think there...
  19. Tradeshow pannel trimmer

I was just looking at (on line) the Fletcher machine. Do they require multiple passes to cut DiBond? Is it as efficient as something like a panel saw? (which we have and use) Looking to cut down on: 1. Noise 2. Sawdust 3. Edges that need filing after the cut process. Any comments are...
  20. Updating Omega Software

Golf, huh? Golf's great, no better pastime in my opinion. Leaving for Tucson Tuesday morning.
