  1. What to do about a failed install?

I'm not assuming anything. That's almost what I did for the truck here a few weeks ago and it turned out great. I don't have any pictures, I forgot. The vinyl was supposed to be black, but it had quite a blue hue to it. Looked odd. I also tried fitting his decals to the truck itself and it...
  2. Need Help Roland issue?

Ahhh.......... your neighbor is out grilling and the minute grease popping off the ribs is becoming airborne and landing on your vinyl. Yep, that's the ticket. Smells good, though..............
  3. wondering about the process... burned sign panel? distressed and painted?

Did you ever try to pick up a railroad tie ?? I didn't think so. Besides, they are way too small to be that, but even if they were, that setup would never support that kinda weight.
  4. What to do about a failed install?

Wait a minute, Dr............. He's out his $170 bucks and you ruined his graphics. You said you consider yourself a professional, or so you'd like to think. A professional does not accept something, say, forget it and go away after doing what you did. You don't need to own up to your...
  5. Type of paint for old sign poles

They've been doing it like that for over 100 years, but they didn't have any safety features, then. Survival of the fittest, I guess.
  6. What to do about a failed install?

Whether you were hired on the side for cash or doing this as a business..... like mentioned, you were contracted to do something, but you didn't deliver your end. You really don't have any choices other than to pay for what you ruined and either try it again or tell him to find a professional...
  7. Need Help Roland issue?

Looks like contamination of some liquid or moist condition. It could very easily be in the ink cartridge itself..... or maybe with what you're using to wipe it with, but it looks to symmetrical for something done by hand.
  8. Type of paint for old sign poles

Anyone ever use these ?? I have. They're great...... and cheap.
  9. Rant! Creative Freedom

Yep, they're the worse kinds...... nieces, something-in-law, friends kid and so on. Vent, get it outta your system and don't call the aunt. No one likes a tattletale. Do what she wants and then never do another thing for her. Learn the lesson that you said upfront..... you normally say no...
  10. wondering about the process... burned sign panel? distressed and painted?

There's no way to know for sure, unless the person who made that is here to tell us. This appears to be wood from some kinda roof or flooring which had some thick sheeting on it and it was either intentionally burned or in a building fire. The stuff was removed from the premises and someone...

Is that anything like....... a Big Mac ?? :munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie::munchie:
  12. Scammers have changed tactics for sign people

What I meant, there's no one on the phone when their devises are scanning. Only when the line is not being used for talking or texting, etc. I didn't mean out-of-service numbers.
  13. Type of paint for old sign poles

Basic rule is....... rough surfaces = heavier nap. Smooth surfaces = shorter nap. Also, oil based paints work well with about 1/8" nap. Roll the roller on something sticky to get the excess hair off, first. The foam rollers always leave bubbles behind which means you'll hafta to go over it...
  14. Type of paint for old sign poles

Sanding and wiping down. If it needs grinding, I trust your using a disc sander or something.
  15. Type of paint for old sign poles

Ronan Bulletin. In the summertime, all good paint will be runny and drippy. Nature of the beast. You need to be careful and have a lotta rags with ya. If you're up high, ya don't wanna drip or have the wind blow your drips onto cars or peoples' heads, so less paint and more strokes. You are...
  16. Hello from Colorado

Here's an old friend of mine with his pet pigeon, Barney, about ready to knock some building over...... or maybe he's trying to hold it up.
  17. Where can I find these icons?

  18. How many of you could leave your shop behind for at least a month and not have any issues?

Yes, this is a well known fact, but I highly doubt they just bought a failing business and wanna leave in a year's time for a month long cruise or go play in the mountains. I take a month of Sundays off all the time. )))
  19. Shipping Large Masked Decals

Get yourself about a 10" sonotube, wrap it around that and place that inside a slightly larger sonotube for shipping. Either do it right or settle for all kindsa makeshift fixes.
  20. Where can I find these icons?

Ahh...... make them ?? They're quite simplistic. You should be capable of doing that in a few minutes.
