  1. looking for a inexpensive and or beginner wrap (as forgiving as possible)

I think the Avery stuff's the easiest to hang personally. Is this for a color change or a printed commercial wrap?
  2. cnc laser tube

We get stuff from lightobject: https://lightobject.com/laser-tube/
  3. Clean air compressor for new CNC

I had a devilbliss dessicant filter for a while, but we didn't have anything before that to remove the bulk of the moisture. We ended up changing the dessicant out roughly twice a week which was honestly a pain in the butt. That looks like a nice setup Max.
  4. Clean air compressor for new CNC

It was roughly $980 for the dryer and we spent another couple hundred getting fittings, hose connections, oil seperators and what not for it.
  5. Clean air compressor for new CNC

We went through something similar last year when we upgraded our Gerber Sabre to an AXYZ CNC. I was lucky enough to have an unused 12cfm compressor on hand, but we did buy this dryer for the system...
  6. What is this material?

Def looks like PVC as stated above.
  7. anyone on 101 running a laser?

We've run a 3655 format Boss laser system here on and off for the last 4yrs. I feel like it paid for itself within 9-10 months of it being in use.
  8. Ultra-tack print media suitable for doming

I haven't used it for domed decals, but the Arlon high tack is definitely very aggressive.
  9. Question Worth losing a customer because I don't trust their engineering?

I would trust your gut impression and just move on. You're definitely in the chain of companies involved that would get dragged into a lawsuit if the sign fails as is.
  10. Seeking pantone-matched acrylic

Acrilex will also make custom colors, but honestly it's going to cost a fortune. Paint or back printed clear is the way to go.
  11. Summa OPOS marks in Adobe Illustrator 2022 for Mac?

Why can't you downgrade to Illy 2020? I've definitely pulled down legacy versions in the past to run older plotters we had that weren't supported anymore.
  12. Gerber Sabre 408 not accurate

If it were tripping from the motion drives I'd think you should definitely look more at the leadscrews, but since it's spindle based I'm not sure. We wore our lead screw coating almost completely off our old Gerber 408 all three Axis', but we did lubricate each screw daily with Lami-lube to...
  13. What printing process and material would you use?

Melamine is tough to stick to as said above. Not sure if adhesion promotors work on that stuff with UV digital and/or if it's even possible with the product you're selling.
  14. Pricing for a large format printer

We run heavy minimum price charges for sampling/proofing, charge for every lot of artwork in a given order to cover prepress/rip time and we don't discount very much until we're over 4500-5000 square feet. We find the prepress, machine setup and testing time/proofing are the biggest leaches on...
  15. Question Adhesion Issues: Digital Media and PVC Substrates

Have you tried printing and mounting high tack adhesive versions of vinyl? General Formulations and Arlon both make some nice high tack media. Might give you the additional grip you need so even a calendared media/lam combo doesn't shrink enough to lift off. PVC can be puzzling to mount onto...
  16. High Tac Material Recommendations

I've installed the General Formulations and the Arlon 8200X, they're both nice stuff.
  17. Glueing clear acrylic sheet perfectly clearly?

UV glue would give near perfect/perfect results. We've had success just using acrifix and using a pneumatic press to squeeze the parts together. That worked for our workflow as the part was only 7"H x 11"W and it was getting married to a small base. With the pneumatic press, the bubbles...
  18. UV printed braille on HP FB550

So CMYK in one layer, then you bump the height up and run white in multiple passes to build up? In bidirectional I'm guessing to get it to dome up?
  19. Can eco-solvent offgas actually do damage to uv print heads?

We've heard of it too honestly. Not sure how that plays out with all the ink variables between manufacturers though.
  20. Question "hardest" pvc product?

I wouldn't think laminate would help on any foam pvc (komatex/sintra). The base substrate is still soft so it's still going to get wrecked.
