  1. New Logo For new Company

I don't do this too often because I don't consider myself a designer by any means. I try to look at different signs, logos, etc from the fans point of view. After saying all of that, here's what I saw. No paw at first. Honestly, I thought I was looking at some kind of orbs or ballon things...
  2. Signs over Big Bay Doors

Depends on what the building's structure is. Block, siding. corrugated metal? I wouldn't use anything less than .063 if you use aluminum. I find that .040 has an "oil can" effect if the wall is not prefectly flat. Plus extreme weather change will cause it to buckle. Might want to try...
  3. Cut contour not following cutpath

If you did this in flexi and used the bezier tool to outline the image and didn't clean up the contor before you mask it, the contor cut flollowed your outline, not the image itself. You have spend some time editing the nooks and cranies before you mask it. If you did this in Photoshop, forget...
  4. QR Code size

I'll try this again out here in the open forums. We have Realtor customer wanting his QR Code added to 18x24 yard type signs. They are normally placed on the roadside anywhere from 6 to 20 feet away. How big does the code have to be in order for people in cars traveling at least 20mph to...
  5. Cut contour not following cutpath

Couple of questions: Did you trace the image? Might be reading other lines or objects left after tracing. What does the image look like when you remove the color? You might see exactly what the contor cut is following when there is no color. Dave
  6. Stumped, need layout suggestions

We do many plaques of this kind. People stop in almost every week wanting to give us their kids old trophies. We suggest they remove the plates and donate the trophies to the local Russel Nesbitt School for slow learning kids. We take the plates and make the plaque. As far as the layout you...
  7. Flexi Sign Pro 8.5

Welcome from Ohio Valley Awards Get ready Dave
  8. Separating Images

Why not just re-create it? It's just text, a rectangle, and some squares to make the flag. Dave
  9. misaligned cutcontour sp300

Just happened to me the other day. Changed the encoder strip, did all the calibrations and everything was good. Came back the next the day, send a job for print and cut and the cut was off almost .25" off. Was ready to flip out but took a step back and remembered how much the printer cost...
  10. Old Landlord says I must pay new tenants bills......

Did he buy the "FOR RENT" sign from you? Dave
  11. Rolands SP-300V PRoblem

No temperature shifts but I did do an environmental match. I will check out the other 2 things and let you know if that works. thanks
  12. Rolands SP-300V PRoblem

We seem to have a recurring problem a few months ago we replaced the encoder strip on our printer because the scan side of our print cut was off and could not be rectified by the usual fixes. A week ago it started again. We replaced the strip last night again thinking something happened to it...
  13. Does anyone recognize this plaque?

Looks like a custom made plaque. The board looks like a standard plaque board. ( maybe cheapo pressed wood chips} The acrylic looks like a custom cut with reversed cut text and Audi symble applied to the back and fastened to the board with the SS screws. The silver plate looks to be sublamation...
  14. Hey Fred........................

Facinate Teacher: Class, I want you to say a sentence using the word facinate. Mary: We went to Yellow Stone Park on vacation this summer and it was really facinating. Teacher: That was good Mary, but I wanted the word facinate, not facinating. Anyone else? Susie: We went to...
  15. My left arm for a good employee....

Maybe try outsourcing some stuff. At least until you can get your feet back under yourself. I posted in another thread about having to go outside the shop and get work due to losing our insurance. Two weeks later we had an employee quit. Makes for some long days and nights. I'm here now...
  16. installing window perf on an inset window

I did a window that was about 10' x 8' with perf. I only have a 30" printer so I had to panel it. I made the image about one inch bigger length and width. In the conners where the perf was tucked, I made a diagonal cut on the image that allowed me to tuck the perf tight against frame...
  17. Jillbeans Happy Birthday

Happy B-Day from down the road. Enjoy it. Dave
  18. Help!! Vinyl will not load on SP300V- Coming up as 0.0 wide

We're having the same problem at different times. I did some trial and error and found out if the head reads 27.8 all is good. If we move the pinch roller past that [wider], it will read 0.0 or read pinch roll error. There are no problems if we set the pinch roller to a lesser width either...
  19. A Frame supplier

Don't know how big your signs need to be, but I do all the directioal signs for the half marathon here. Since they wanted cheap, I use coroplast. Staple them to 1" x 1" [furing strip ripped in two] and use a street cone for the base. The city supplies the cones. The pole fits tight enough in the...
  20. Anyone located in Topeka Kansas??

Knew a girl by the name of Dorthy who lived in Kansas. Not sure exactly what town she came from. What exactly needs done to make some money? I don't do gardening, windows, painting, housework, auto mechanics, roofing, plumbing, excavating, welding, electrical or sheet metal. Guess I'm gone...
