  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is outside the boundaries of journalistic professionalism...

Hmmmmm....it's finally making sense. I've always wondered why I've had trouble working out those wrinkles with a squeegee. JB
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is outside the boundaries of journalistic professionalism...

I took it down...but here it is again. It appears as though one of his stripes has come loose. Another reason not to use cheap vinyl. :roflmao: Follow the pending mayhem here: https://www.facebook.com/HillsdaleDailyNews JB
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is outside the boundaries of journalistic professionalism...

Seriously, this is currently on the front page of the local newspaper web site www.hillsdale(dot)net. I removed the photo, but posted it further below. You've been warned. JB
  4. $1000 van wrap

My dad owned an auto body shop for nearly 50 years....Earl Scheib was a PITA to the pros back then. Back in the 70s, my brother and I would occasionally holler across the shop to each other "No ups...no extras". JB
  5. $1000 van wrap

The answer is actually in this statement. JB
  6. "You'll have to eat your chili with a fork": Managerial Failure 101

You just described why I like it so well (I already knew). I love it when there are crispy bits of burger in it. It's a freakin' brilliant way to stretch inventory. Sadly, the Frosty has changed for the worse...it used to have a bit coarser texture which was awesome. Now, they seem too...
  7. "You'll have to eat your chili with a fork": Managerial Failure 101

+1 for Culver's....the youngsters are extremely well mannered and well dressed...there's not a sloppy one in the bunch. I'd be willing to bet that Culver's has four times the national average of employees per square foot of restaurant. JB

  9. "You'll have to eat your chili with a fork": Managerial Failure 101

Exactly. Managing the day-to-day includes observing AND RECORDING stock supplies. And I'm guessing this botch involved several shift managers along the way. It definitely wasn't a spontaneous problem that occurred this afternoon. JB
  10. "You'll have to eat your chili with a fork": Managerial Failure 101

So, I was at that restaurant featuring the founder's ubiquitous red haired daughter. I had intended on getting a cup of their awesome (my opinion) chili, but they were running a special BOGO for $1 on their spicy chicken sandwiches, so I opted for that instead. The young dude in front of me in...
  11. Aluminum Number Sign Questions

Agreed. There are many obstacles to work through, especially when competing with what is offered through Home Depot, Lowes and Menards. JB
  12. Aluminum Number Sign Questions

.75 mm (1/32") is A LOT of paint to expect to dry anytime soon. With paint that thick, expect considerable imperfections (thin paint along external edges, fish eye, wrinkles, etc...). Catalyst coatings are expensive due to the extensive amount of chemicals. In all honesty, you'd be better...
  13. Aluminum Number Sign Questions

Machined aluminum is going to have a sheen with a lot of cutter marks that will most likely show through the paint. In my (40 years) experience, the best way to prep such a substrate is to sandblast the aluminum. But even at that, the cutter marks may still show through unless you sand them...

Sorry...I didn't remember seeing your name. JB
  15. Font Help Please

I don't remember seeing any of your posts, but are you a member of either of these? They're also monument guys. Similar names, but two separate forums. JB https://www.facebook.com/groups/MonumentBuilders/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/370027193995059/
  16. Spell Check + Trolling = :)

HEY!!!! It's the visiting team's banner, and I believe it's TOTALLY correct. The original sign, however, is not. On another note: Wanting to toot their own academic horn, our local school put up a huge billboard featuring members from the marching band with the words: "Let's here it...
  17. Vinyl install toolbox

I have a Milwaukee rolling pack-out case that I use around the shop only. I'd definitely take it on the road if my jobs warranted it. JB
  18. Letters on a waterfall?

Ain't THAT the truth! Ask the art dealer...and the junk peddler...and you'll two different answers. JB
  19. Letters on a waterfall?

    Patina...not tarnish. JB
