This is the difference between a sign shop that does some wraps and shop that does wraps or installs solely.

  7. Wholesale to the trade?

I've dealt w/ Wyld and Merritt firsthand and they're both excellent sources.
  8. Knifeless Tape

I'll stick to a good sharp blade and a nice steady hand.
  9. Recovering clogged UV print heads

$2200 is less than a spectra head from a viable third party source for me, but how are you guaranteeing you'll open all the nozzles? Why are you not cleaning the full hp/nur spectra brand of heads in the complete assembly? In simply swapping ribbons on our print heads we've found in real...
  10. Wrapping bad surfaces....

There's too many variables to say it won't stick well on the whole, but I know I would not honor any warranty longer than how long it takes the film took to cool down after it was installed/post heated.
  11. When wrapping a large RV/Bus

Bus wraps are terribly competitive. I wouldn't doubt someone would knock that out for $4k and change depending on the model/age and complexity of the bus.
  12. Wrapping with non air egress vinyl

Call a viable certified installer to put this on for you so you don't lose your ass on something fairly simple. The graphic you have is liquid laminated from signature and then premasked. It's most likely marginally thicker than what 180c is straight away. I used to sort of relish...
  13. Measuring Graphics

Eyeball and several big steps back. All day. If it doesn't look right and it's "level/measure's out correctly" it still doesn't look right.
  14. Inks

There's lots of third party ink providers for most digital presses. Cost, adhesion, color gamut and mileage are generally the big factors in moving away from the OEM inks. We're running third party inks in our flatbed and we'll move our XLJet to them soon as well.
  15. UV adhesion

We're running HyFlex Polymeric ink in our Tempo and from the initial tests it's vastly better than the OEM ink. We do a lot of heat bending and routed coro boxes and so far this stuff seems to turn corners very well.
  16. 3M-Carbon Fiber & Matte Wrap Films

Probably like a lot of you I got an email blast from 3M about the release of these films to compete w/ Hexis and Oracal's 970ra series films. Here's some pics from Sema : http://idsfinishes.com/blog/ Differences from the Dinoc Stuff: 3.8mil thick vs. Dinoc 8.3mil thickness 60" roll stock vs...

  18. Caldera for mac questions

I would not look to run Flexi personally. I never, ever had better than mediocre results in getting consistent color.
  19. Caldera for mac questions

I'm not familiar w/ the ink tracking usage feature (although I'd think that would be easy to confirm online by checking the features list) - There are 5 color and contrast intensity presets you can choose from when sending files to the printer.
  20. Ripping on a MAC - what software you using?

Sorry, I just saw this. It does the job well for us although we're probably only scratching the surface on what it can do in the hands of someone that really knows how to operate all it's tools. I'm quite happy with it and I came from mainly using Onyx.
