  1. Need Help Newbie - Cast Overlaminate loading

Our way wastes about 10 inches or so but it’s never failed us so far. So load the lam and empty takeup. Lift the top roller quite high, pull the lam (still attached to backer) through about 6-10 inches - just enough to be able to hold it taught and keep Your fingers safe. hold the centre of...
  2. Is there any way to cut this file?

Ah. I was under the impression you change that to onyx. I had it set to summa to start off and changed it to try make it work lol. Will change back to summa Will try again tomorrow but I loaded a file today and it tried to cut it before I could find the barcode. Seems easy enough to set up...
  3. Is there any way to cut this file?

Nah it leaves right away thinking it’s been cut. Had a look at using the onyx barcode, changed the cut marks to onyx, changed the cut server summa to IP, turned on roll server, turned off auto cut new files etc. Only place I’m struggling is the summa won’t read the barcode? And it doesn’t have...
  4. Is there any way to cut this file?

They’re just giant circle floor graphics. 6 of them so I’ve decided to just cut them by hand. Me: 0 Summa: 12
  5. Is there any way to cut this file?

Gone from cut server. And not Even a file type that cut server recognises any more. There doesn’t appear to be an option to just cut manually in summa cutter control like you’re describing. Definitely going to take a look into just the build in barcode server. Will do that after I’ve turned...
  6. Is there any way to cut this file?

that’s the next option! Then after that it’s giving it a good kick. Sheet 4 and 5 cut fine which is arguably more annoying. They all have the EXACT same barcode so are in theory the same sheet (from the cutters perspective)
  7. Is there any way to cut this file?

Should probably add i cleaned the sensor and it freezes when the cutter control isn’t even on so I don’t think it’s anything onyx/file related. Unplugged it from Ethernet and it still froze. (Also tried USB) but our summa notoriously hates the USB.
  8. Is there any way to cut this file?

So, just starting out my summa is a PITA every day of the week but I really hate it today. From onyx 21 I printed to my Colorado. I sent one sheet of graphics and on the layout options I asked for 5 copies. 5 completely identical sheets with matching barcodes. When I went to cut them, sheet #3...
  9. Question Onyx/Summa barcode cut off after each sheet like Flexi?

So we get onyx to create the cut file and send it to a folder, then we get summa cutter control to view the folder and use those cut files. Haven’t tried just doing it in onyx so can’t tell you what that’s like. Our way is still very straightforward. As far as the double cut line goes, you’d...
  10. glossy paper printing - keep glossiness intact

I know canon took tech from the Arizona’s in order to give the Colorado the option between Matt and gloss. And that tech is a Matt finish so it’s very likely the Arizona series just has a Matt only finish. Thinking as the Colorado has independent curing and print heads you can pin the dots...
  11. Installing full bleed digital print on die cut magnetic shapes - Registration Suggestions

What is your exact equipment setup? Sounds like this is much more complicated than it needs to be. Can it be flatbed printed? If you have the cutter I’m sure there’s budget for a small printer?
  12. Custom mimaki ICC profile headaches

Honestly Rasterlink is a bit of a crappy software. If you’re going to shell out the money to start profiling there are a lot of standalone rips that handle this much better. Onyx or Caldera for example. Maybe try a demo of one of those and see how you get on. Profiling in onyx is very...
  13. New Shrink Wrap Setup

This is not our one but it’s this general idea
  14. Viable laminator sled ideas?

For single sided we used to just load a roll of lam, a roll of paper and then throw prints in between. The Coro would be a good idea for small runs I guess.
  15. New Shrink Wrap Setup

Ours is a one step process that you can choose shrink or seal. Only fits maybe 1.5k’ by 2’ which is my only problem. Wish it was bigger. We are trying to use less plastic though and have been trying to find cardboard packages that suit our needs. Shrink wrapper is much quicker though lol
  16. Viable laminator sled ideas?

You know that roll of backing paper you get from the roll of laminate you’ve just finished? Use that.
  17. Why do they make printers, laminators, and cutters in different widths?

You get a 38” laminator and you get a 30” roll of lam and 30” roll of printable vinyl. No wasted excess. You seem to just be looking at the max width of the machine. Remember you don’t need to put that size of media in. We have a 64” printer but generally run 54” media and 54” lam. Sure, we...
  18. Colorado 1650 poor black color

Is the black consistent? You can get issues laying down too much ink. Other than that, the blacks we get are great so the blacks on your other printer must be tremendous!
  19. Colorado 1650 poor black color

and high quality or slower? The faster the print mode the less ink it can lay down
  20. Colorado 1650 poor black color

you’re using the right inks lol. As far as the rich blacks go, are you using Matt or gloss?
