What does the width need to be? Our Colorado does super fast backlits (20m/sq an hour, what’s that, 215sqft?) but it’s only 64”. The inks are very cheap and the print quality and gamut are amazing. This thing chugs through rolls of vinyl a day for us no problem. You’ll also have the choice...
The OP hasn’t actually replied since making the post. We’re all just guessing they have a HP. Could be a multitude of reasons I guess. Most posters have a habit of supplying information in dribs and drabs
That’s crazy! I’ll ask my supplier how much shipping is the the USA for you and see if it’s worth mentioning to you! We did get a great deal on it though, those guys are our main paper supplier so guessing they make enough from the paper to throw us a bone every now and then.
They actually...
This. I can’t tell you how many people have shown me their logo recently and it’s been designed in bitmap and has drop shadows etc all over it. I love seeing a logo that’s actually print friendly too lol
My favourite thing about the vanguards is they’re always just like “oh you’re busier now, no need to add a new printer, just get another row of heads”.
I always found those to be a bit pricey compared to some alternatives tbh. You can probably get 2 mimaki UJV55-320’s for that price. There are a lot of superwides in that price range that can print a lot quicker and have white options too.
that’s going on specs and prices alone. Not sure how...
Yeah the stuff we have for carpets is very sticky but apparently removable. We hadn’t tried it until COVID so I guess I’ll find out when the customers need to remove em!
I always set all the rollers to high for cuts. That helped.
Is there any way you can panel the print? Honestly the largest sheet that we could reliably cut every time was about 1.2m.
how big are you making the marks? When you say fall short, do you mean it stops looking before getting to...
All of which I’m about to say may be nonsense as I don’t have a flatbed and haven’t had to do jobs like this before. I have a few thoughts that would make my life *easier* but don’t have a complete idea of how your workflow goes.
That and I don’t use flexi so will add an option (lazy) that you...
we only use a stroke in illy and haven’t ever had double cuts/issues. I’ve found most people that have a double cut are saving to EPS and have “convert all strokes to outlines” ticked.
We have the 1640 and it’s inks are great, great gamut, tremendous scratch resistance and the speeds are insane! BUT the inks are shiny. Very shiny. Even on Matt papers. I wouldn’t touch wallpaper with it.
The 1650 on the other hand has the choice between Matt or gloss print modes. You really...
I do this. I always have backing paper or old vinyl running through so I just load new lam, pull it out a bit, tape the middle to the backing paper that’s running through (to stop Me laminating my rollers) then pull it through ever so slightly.
after that, just cut through the backing paper...
Our Colorado prints AAC marks to automatically correct any banding, those marks usually take up about 1/2” either side of the roll anyway so we don’t tend to print on that area anyway.
Our main vinyl for signs comes in at 1600mm and the matching lam is 1530 for no apparent reason as well so we...
Any reason you’re going for the 75 model? Generally the wider models aren’t much dearer initially but can be a lot more helpful in the long run. I’d recommend at least 54”
