Stouse sells them with tape and caps.
  2. This photo app is bananas!

I heard a news story about this. Thanks for the link.
  3. Suggestions Looking to purchase first routing table for the shop, suggestions?

We have been installing this week. So far the acrylic we cut has great edges. We also got very clean cuts on .063 aluminum. We haven’t tried .080 yet. It’s done a good job with foam board and the belt worked well for a roll of diamond reflective decals. That’s all I can tell you after 2 days of...
  4. Suggestions Looking to purchase first routing table for the shop, suggestions?

If you're looking for a cutting table and not just a router, Colex is worth putting on your radar I'm impressed with the edge quality of acrylic - not quite flamed but pretty nice.
  5. Advertising a monthly special - ideas?

‘Two things come to mind. - Use a “Buy Local” tone. That is the strength in advertising in the local paper. - Why offer discounts? I’m not saying don’t do it, just suggesting you consider what value it brings to you and can you achieve the same thing another way. If stores need to freshen up...
  6. This is a first....

LOL - you gotta give points for thinking outside the box.
  7. Just In Coroplast Price Increase

A last minute FYI - This week I've received notices from 3 suppliers that coroplast prices are going up 20% on March 1.
  8. Need Help Purchasing a sticker machine

The first thing that came to mind is get a separate plotter for cutting. The printed material has to be removed from the printer to laminate anyway. A Graphtec or Summa plotter should run under $5k and will contour and die cut your stickers while you print the next set. I don’t remember seeing...
  9. News Howdy from Texas

I picked the wrong weekend to visit Amarillo last week. The normal 12 hour trip back to Houston on Monday turned into a sketchy 2 day adventure. Icy highways, closed restaurants and hours between open gas stations. By the time we got through Dallas we knew we couldn’t get close to home before...
  10. Test print files

No, they were just solid colored rectangles covering the whole sheet - about 12" x 48" or 96" depending on how long the carriage was on the printer we were testing. Deep Red, Reflex Blue, Green, Purple.
  11. Test print files

Nothing tests banding like red, blue, green and purple boxes and since a large part of what most people print are large color boxes, it's worth testing. Each color box should run the full length of the carriage. This will show stepping issues and bi-directional banding that you may miss in a...
  12. New Profit Center For Your Sign Shop

I bought a low end label printer a few years ago because a customer promised tons of regular business. It turned out that he made two big runs of 100,000 for initial inventory. After that I didn’t hear from him and we only found a few additional short run jobs that made sense on our equipment...
  13. i got a new toy & a new project, all in one!

Sounds like you have the drive to make it all work and have a fun project. I agree with alevit. Coro is tough to cut well with a router. Maybe if you run at low RPMs it will keep from melting edges, but you will probably have to hand trim the tag ends of the flute walls that bend out of the...
  14. Suggestions Best mid-level flatbed printer?

I’m a big fan of Digitech. They are solid, reliable and economical. We installed our first 3 years ago and a year later bought a second one. I expect my next flatbed will also be a Digitech.
  15. Commercial Liability renewal 25% less

Good news for you. Who's your carrier? I may need to shop.
  16. Looking for CHEAP printable vinyl

I've found that cheap media comes with trade offs. - media profiles don't work, colors are inconsistent, it's only available once, it shrinks immediately, it has bad areas, edges curl with the laminate used, etc.... Testing a new cheap media on a big project has risks.
  17. Favorite Movies

All of these are great picks. I’m torn between Lawrence of Arabia and The Princess Bride.
  18. 10mm Lawn Signs

Ive never seen those. You might try a separate piece of 10mm Coro with dowel rods as a substitute. Alan
  19. News Alex Trebeck has died

Jeopardy will not be the same. He will be missed.
  20. Need Help UV Ink not adhering to Coroplast signs. (Peeling Ink, Sun Exposure)

Corona treatment on 10mm Coro is always questionable since it doesn't move through distribution as fast as 4mm. The comments about UV lamp degradation are on target. Eventually you will have to replace lamps. In the interim, increasing passes may help some, you could also check profiles to make...
