I've made lots of stencils by hand. Sometimes cutting the vinyl, weeding the stencil part and than cutting the release liner by hand. I've also done the same thing but mounted the vinyl to either styrene or sintra.
Now I get my buddy to make them for me with his laser cutter. He uses a...
Did you add bleed to your artwork? I think Roland recommends 1pt but that's bs. I usually put about 10 to 20 pts depending on the size I'm cutting.
Try and slow the cutting speed down. I set mine to 10 cut and 10 travel. Helps keep things accurate (ish).
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. It's not really a purchase but I leased a new location for 3 years. Best move we've made so far. The rent ain't cheap but it's worth every penny.
A few things come to mind.
Dirty encoder strip/ reader.
dirty pinch rollers
the slack on the roll changes from test to test. Are you spooling off some material so the pinch rollers aren't pulling the weight of the full roll?
I've got a job coming up where I'll be mounting prints to sintra and the client will be displaying them around the office. I'm not a fan of double sided foam tape as it basically destroys the drywall and leaves behind one hell of a mess. I thought I had found a solution. I believe it's called...
What happens when you just print/cut without lam? Same thing?
What speed is your cutter set at? I always use a very slow setting for print/cut.
What blade are you using? 45 or 60? Is your blade offset set accordingly?
Thanks guys.
I've convinced them to order Illy to make the kids life (and mine) a little easier. They got it and now head office has lost the disk. Gotta love big corporations...
I believe he's using a very old copy of Power Point and he's told me that he can't print or save PDF's. I don't...
Yes, I know Power Point is not the best program for design but in this case, it's the only thing that is available. Long story short, this company has a German exchange student designing a bunch of stuff for them and all he has is power point. (It's to bad because he's actually a pretty good...
You would have to paint the mdf first. One look I like is 1/4" sintra cut on a table saw with the blade on a 45º angle or more. Makes the print look like it's floating off the wall.
It could be the one that reads the media. Kinda makes sense if it's reading a right roller error. Try getting it back to it's original position otherwise I think it may be time to call a tech. No point waisting time and possibly making the problem worse. I've seen some pretty nasty head...
Yikes!!! I'm gonna guess that's the censor that reads the crop marks and it should live on the bottom of the cutter head. I'm also guessing that a full calibration will need to be done.
Call it what you want. I'd rather see that money going towards people that deserve it rather than some low-life, douche bag, leach on society.
What a stupid system.
