What does this mean? Are you implying the machine ate the reflective bits embedded in the vinyl? Latex ink is translucent. Reflective prints are absolutely perfect from this machine.
Yeah HP just "simplified" the naming. People here, including me, love the machine over solvents. I would say the only gripe people may have is the relatively long warm-up(10 minutes) and slow output(depending on quality). I average 130ish sqft/hr with 10 pass with my 26500. Some people have...
$30K can get you an HP 26500/260 and a decent 60" laminator. I would recommend the latex since you said it might sit for a few days(if its any longer you need to sell more!). This would require a whole lotta cleanin' on a solvent machine(wasting ink), while the hp latex is virtually maintenance...
I haven't had any issues length wise with the 180cv3, and I've always flipped the tiles on every printer I've used.
Are you printing gutters on the sides of your prints? It may help to compare the front and end of the print to see if you are losing nozzles during long prints, which extra ph...
I print on Grimco's Forward Banner, 13oz matte finish. I don't have any color shift between the left and right side of the machine, if that's what you mean about shift on tiled banners. On my old 25500 sometimes the left side would not be as dry as the right side on heavy coverage, but I haven't...
Yeah, it's not the most accurate machine, even the manual says banner length can vary up to 2%. I'd imagine its from the relatively high temps on lighter or cheap banner material. I've never had panels off by more than 1/4" over 20' but I still try to seam where there's empty space.

I only used the extra PH cleaning when I would setup a 200' run to print overnight on my older 25500. I believe the PH temp. is much better for the 26500 so its not necessary. I don't believe it uses an excessive amount of ink, but it will burn through the cleaning cartridge very very fast.
