  1. Bricks

Holy Cow, that is a really nice graphic but I must be missing something, $6k to have access to a couple of hundred backgrounds for a year? Educate me.
  2. Sign Boot Feedback Wanted

Looks great for indoor use, wouldn't last here for 2min outdoors. We make 4' x 4' realtor sign frames out of 4" square tubing welded, the feet are 6'-8' x 4" welded to the bottom of the risers of the frame. We take the ends in with 24" rebar. I went out on a call the other day and one had...
  3. Poll: Are you printing CMYK, or RGB files from Versaworks?

I design RGB in Illy, export to VW unless I am putting something to press, then I design cmyk
  4. Bricks

Where do you got your background images? The depth on that looks really nice in the photo.
  5. opaque prints - is there anyway on clear?

Printing white would be the answer for sure but I thought that they had to be transluscent, just darker. What about printing white at 30%, 50%...
  6. opaque prints - is there anyway on clear?

Not sure if I understand completely. Can you run a print on both sides of the glass like you might on a pan face. If the glass is thick I guess it would look blurry from anything but exactly head on. What about for the section that needs to be dark, printing with reg marks, overlaminating...
  7. Starting out from scratch...

I think that you are going to need to be using products that have an adhesive of some sort, cling might work for temporary items on glass but fridges have some texture in many instances and the walls will certainly need an adhesive.
  8. Struggling with this one.

I might try ditching the second comma as well. Correct with or without it but I think it would read ok and get rid of the awkward spacing.
  9. Struggling with this one.

Have you tried the center color in Plus? Just wanted to see it because I hate purple so much. Your client will probably love it.
  10. Struggling with this one.

I like it. Couple of kerning issues, especially between the 'P' and the 'l', I might nudge the graphic in towards the text just about the same amount as well. If you get totally creamed for this one I will be right there with you. lol
  11. Aluminum sign ?

I would also use DTM primer instead of Zins or Kills2 etc. It bonds direct to metal, even galvinized, it's 100%acrylic, do not use one that just says acrylic and not 100%. It is also water clean up.
  12. New signs from Piccadilly

It's hard to tell on the photo what is hand carved/painted etc.. Is the relief in the background boards carved, rocks... The detail in the piece of driftwood is awesome. I would love to be able to paint like that as well. Very nice.
  13. Learning Illustrator

    Hey Dan, Lynda.com :-) Seriously.
  14. Learning Illustrator

    Yep, Lynda.
  15. Looking for "Wow"... all I have is "ummm ok"

You can't use a script all broken up like that, keep looking.
  16. Good Bye

Well, that's a shame. There are a lot of folks on here but only one Mosh.
  17. Color Sampling Device rental??

I don't use one other than for monitor calibration but I think that most folks that have one use it on such a regular basis that there would not be much of a market for rental.
  18. Offense

Geeze Joe, I hope he is an idiot and didn't understand that, otherwise you might have offended him.
  19. Versaworks Multiple print/lam/cut question

Too much handling of individual sheets, squaring in the laminator... I thought if I printed a roll and laminated a roll that when it came time to contour cut I could use the new pre-feed feature then it could cut 4 and then sheet cut... It wouldn't have to bang on the floor or jerk the roll.
  20. Offense

You can certainly say things that are 'likely' to cause people to take offense.
