I stand corrected  - then all the power to you. I thought I've seen that price somewhere - then again, it doesn't negate my idea of printing direct on aluminum. After all, the guy wants to have an image on aluminum, it's just another (cheaper / better?) way to put it there from a computer...
Hi Ken, why not print directly on metal? Don't know what size you're thinking about, but I print .025 aluminum sheets ( 2'x4') on Epson 7800 all the time w pigment inks. I run the printer in CMYK only, there are couple of ink receptive coatings that work pretty good w metals (InkAid for one), so...
Hey Artbot, how's it going? Just a thought - why not just change the tubing - that is, get a set of brand new tubing - to save the aggravation of cleaning them up? :toasting:

converting any piezo head printer to run SepiaX is not a big deal - there are other issues to worry about - I f^%& up my printheads after 4 hours of non-stop printing - it was Epson 7800 - completely shot the printhead, nothing would come out. I'm guessing the heat that dries the ink on the...
well, point taken...guess I'm lucky - I don't print on white media AT ALL so anytime somebody (client/customer) says PMS or color match or one of those dreadful words, I sent them away... I weeded out anybody who wants color fidelity - but have a bunch of color blind people happily coming back...

Hope this will...

Nice job! How hot can you go? Can you control the heat? I'm looking to retrofit my home-brewed flatbed - running SepiaX in it - so far with no heat, but would like to eliminate priming.
custom printed hydrodipping films
I print my own films - been doing it for last couple of years. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEYeKRn3r-g
To answer the OP question, no, solvent inks don't work. Not about to say what does, but if there is enough interest I might consider...
If I remember correctly - it's been a while - import your text as an image then do your variable data processing ( out of Excel spread?)
Away from the comp, can't look it up right now but pretty sure that's how it worked. Good luck!
you can actually make fonts in Corel - done in ver. 5 long ago, don't remember how, but shouldn't be hard to find - will look up later, but the idea is you can create a font out of your vector outline.
