  1. is my head is daying?

That could possibly be caused by static electricity, dirty head, mismatched profile/media combination.... Maybe you could clean the heads, make sure the media is dust-free and dis-charged of static...try a different profile? Does it happen while printing uni-directionally as well? A test-draw...

if you have your serial #'s Adobe will help you out and allow you to download and unlock for free. I had to do it last year.

  5. Roland vs Mimaki

you had mentioned the silver ink...unless you laminate them, they will rub right off easily. ask for non-laminated samples before you choose that ink-set
  6. Have you replaced your JV3 recently?

It may be cheaper to flush the lines as the cleaning fluid is cheaper than ink if you don't plan to use it regularly. I put mine in storage and brought in four JV33's. I am about to resurrect it though (with all the helpful info I've received for this forum (thanks ArtBot!) JV3 is a reliable...
  7. Small format and Rich Colours Wanted :)

another advantage of the Summa printers is the fact that they require little maintenance when compared to the Edges, and have a better method of cleaning your vinyl prior to laying down color. These are great machines!
  8. Small format and Rich Colours Wanted :)

Summa's DC4 thermal resin printers will give you bigger graphics (i think the small model has a 24" print width,) and less operator interaction since you can load all your colors at once (up to 8 foils) and upon completion of the print, the machine will then cut the print. Thermal resin will...
  9. Window Perf

that makes sense. Hopefully you can transition back to the material you tested without hurting your profit.
  10. small UV flatbed choice

Direct Color Systems makes a 13"x24" flatbed UV. I use their solvent, and the general construction is very dependable. Not sure if they are available in Australia.
  11. How do I clean the back side of the heads?

I have the operators pause every 4 hrs and do a quick wipe around the print heads, wiper and capping station. it only takes them 3 minutes, and doing so makes it so the equipment never has the opportunity to get really dirty; warranting a 45 minute cleaning ordeal. Some components can't...
  12. EPS file wont Load

PDF is most likely your best bet. Sometimes bounding boxes are interpreted differently form RIP to RIP too.
  13. Window Perf

when you pull the perf off of the liner, does the ink still clog the holes, or does it stay on the liner? You may have luck switching to a different liner that retards UV ink...no idea what type of liner that would be though. Good Luck!
  14. How do I clean the back side of the heads?

also, the cover has to be put back in place just right...there is a sensor that detects the cover. If it is not replaced correctly, you will get that "close cover - press enter" error.
  15. How do I clean the back side of the heads?

if yo have time to keep wetting it with solvent until it can be easily pushed off with a swab, that would be the way to go. You can set a mirror on the floor of the cleaning bay to get a better view. I would be hesitant to use a metal scraper on it...if by chance you create a bur on the side of...
  16. can anyone help install versaworks!!..help!!!!

Also, print servers are great if you're too far for straight USB, but they are unstable in my experience. Some brands work better than others. Try resetting your print server to refresh your ethernet connection too. Good Luck!
