  1. Van Graphic/banner

Out of the two, magnets would be the best ... but wouldn't last they way they want and require more work to stay decent looking. Banners would work ... if hey want to drill holes in the van and install those temp banner mounts (you know, the ones that you screw in and has a twist head to lock...
  2. What is legal?

This would be my first action ... Send them a "Payment expected in 30 days" notice telling them if they don't attempt to pay by then you are putting a lien on their property (house, business, whatever) ... payment almost always shoots through. As for your payment agreement ... do you not...

  4. font ID help

I couldn't find anything that matched flat sides, equal stroke and still rounded like that ... there are about 5 athletic ones that would work and all you would have to do is round the corners and add the double outline. LHF Convecta base would work of you compress horozontally and de-skew it...
  5. Another thing besides 4' flames that burns my butt...............................

I don't know what to tell you Gino ... In the last 2 months I've received about 20 sample rolls of aqueous canvas material ... only 3 were marked (from kapco none the less) ... The rest ... multiple rolls shoved in a box with no id on them and all look almost the same. If you call the company...
  6. t shirt alignment

Tshirt alignment is just knowing your spacial relations on the shirt and being able to adequately make it similar placement every time .... no defined one way ... find what works best for you, use seams or collars for guides, try to center from the sides, etc. some platens i've had to make...
  7. Am I the crazy one?

Addie you are killing me. As a broker you probably don't understand that "various common size letters" means dink when it comes to typefaces. Lets take 3 common typefaces for example (Impact, Helvetica Black and whats a decent extended font ... blackoak) 1" tall letters look different just...
  8. Am I the crazy one?

If I were a betting man ... I would guess you don't know how to use paint or do measurements since by that photo the glass is 2" wide and the area on the glass you measured is 3' tall ... and since the text takes up about 2/5ths that measurement ... 14" tall for the text? I realize you were...
  9. Averege $/hr for wrapper in the US

In this area ... a wrap installer is generally making same as any other installer ... around $12-20 per hour based on experience. Generally when they start to get good, all the wrappers I have met move to Dallas or houston where they basically start at around 20 an hour. (but then C.O.L. is...
  10. Adhering Letters in Cold, Wet Weather

It's waiting for dry times unfortunately. Cold you can get around even if it's the more tempermental jobs ... wet ... not so much. Even some of the less porous surfaces still hold onto moisture between layers and with dimensional lettering and silicone could mean the difference between an...
  11. Am I the crazy one?

Door is the scale, assuming 3 inch extruded metal frame and an average door that is ADA compliant ... you're looking at about ... what ... 1.5"x20" text on the top and 1.5"x12" text on the bottom? maybe a quarter inch stripe between? Seriously. Other than including actual measurements...
  12. Real or custom

Looks like they modified Volkoff but really it's probably custom off of eurostile ... i've seen about 10 different versions where someone has cropped into that lettering in wonky ways that would never work as an actual stencil.
  13. Realtree camo patterns

It's a gimmick. http://www.camowraps.com/lifetime-warranty ... they don't support products that have errors due to installation or if it's been abused in a way that would make a product fail ... like driving through a field to hunt in. Most of these patterns are just photoshop wizardry...
  14. Looking for a school logo

the ones I see around here are Pirates (in a land locked area), tigers, panthers and rangers. Some I would be amazed to see a shared liscensing agreement for use. I have never received a vector file from a school, ever. If it's from a highschool class I might get an illustrator file filled...
  15. Ya win some... and ya lose some......................................

wife, nephew, son/daughter, etc, etc, etc. Well, it's straight and if he likes it, take the money and run. Charge double when people can't read it.
  16. Online Proofs

I have a proof sheet I designed up ... has job disclaimers, a brief, my companies info, etc on it. Also have it layered for adding watermarks and such.
  17. home printing business, 3dmuralls wallpapers, posters and anything in between.

There is a difference between keeping mystery in what you do and showmanship. When a customer sits down and watches me work ... I don't explain to them what I'm doing ... they can see my hands fly as I manipulate points, fly between programs and get their design to a roughed stated. All the...
  18. My design used by Nickelodeon?

Better get that agreed upon before completion to be able to still use it as marketing material. I don't see anything wrong with a small royalty if it goes national ... and it's agreed to. I get about $8-10 a year for a cheesy jazz inspired painting that ended up being used for a jig saw...
  19. Need Help Pricing out a job please

if he is supplying the materials, what is your hourly shop rate to cover your man hours and shop overhead with a margin? charge that. pretty simple. Also what Gino said about the special pricing. If you're doing work as basically a wholesale service ... any special pricing should be on...
  20. How do you guys heat your shops in the winter time?

absolutely lovely. I'm assuming solid cement blocks, correct? I normally just have a kiln that I fire when I do know I'm going to do some work. Luckily it gets cold and snows here ... but my little kiln keeps my shop at my house a nice 80 degrees (and fires some more ceramics)
