  1. Bret Hart

Sure it is--but only as fake as tv sitcoms, movies, ballet, novels and the theatre. I wonder why folks don't go to the theatre and criticize the actors for being so scripted and fake? It's entertainment--plain and simple. One must suspend disbelief to enjoy it.
  2. Printing an Opaque Black

I routinely print black on clear with the JV3 for the purpose of burning screens both for ourselves and for a client. I print 720x720 16 pass with a custom CMYK black mix of 25/25/25/100 and crank the inks up an additional +.20 in the RIP.
  3. psd file

The asterisk after RGB means that the document is tagged with a color profile other than your default color space in PS. That is probably why the color values changed when you dragged the file into a new document which was opened with your default profile. Sounds like a profile mismatch. A...
  4. Raw magnetic sheeting

We've been using the raw magnetic for a few years now. We prep it with denatured alcohol and apply the prints. It is less expensive than the coated variety. But if you prefer to pay more for the unnecessary extra layer of white, carry on gentlemen.
  5. movie soundtracks and other relaxing music

    Fantastic choices, Stevo.
  6. Stomp Shear Wanted

Our 52" Tennsmith is still going after 15+ years. Cuts .080 aluminum with no problem. Definitely go at least 48" wide. Anything that would necessitate a shear comes in 48" widths, no? In fact, our 52" is still not big enough for some jobs. Luckily, we have a sheet metal shop down the street...

  8. do digital prints on calendered shrink a lot?

We also buy 4'x8' by the 100 and store them upstairs. Don't get me wrong, we buy 18" x 24" by the pallet as well. If I was going to do one or two signs, I would use 18" x 24" blanks. But I would never apply 60 of them one by one when it is much quicker, more cost efficient and easier to apply...
  9. do digital prints on calendered shrink a lot?

I doubt it. I hinge the vinyl on a 4' x 8' sheet and run it through the laminator in about 5 seconds, slice the sheet in half with a coro cutter and cut the resulting pieces on the shear according to printed tick marks so there is no measuring. The whole process takes a few minutes. It would...
  10. do digital prints on calendered shrink a lot?

If I were doing 60, I would just print them in groups of 10 and mount them to 4'x8's--waaaay quicker.
  11. black background

Flexi doesn't like the transparency. Flatten the file, and save as a tif with no compression.
  12. Flatten Transparency in Illy CS4

Are you certain that you are using the exact same steps? Perhaps you are overlooking something simple such as leaving a box unchecked. Here is a link to a thread where the Vector Doctor outlines the steps for this action. This is the second sticky in the Adobe forum...

    Was that a pun?
  14. NEED Profile for Orajet 3641g for Versaworks

    I imagine that a 3651 profile would work equally well--or 3951.
  15. This is for the Gamers in the community

I haven't done any serious gaming in a few years. But I'm absolutely loving the New Super Mario Bros. for Wii. And I'm always down for some Tiger Woods, NCAA Football and Madden. **Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is nice as well.
  16. JV5 cross contamination

Does the JV5 even have a sponge in the capping station?
