I read his autobiography "American on Purpose" a couple of weekends ago. It's a really quick, fun read; I recommend it.
He also featured my favorite band, The Avett Brothers, a couple of weeks ago one of their first national tv spots.
I held off on buying my wife a new laptop until 7 was released (not a fan of upgrading or changing OS on a machine). I haven't had an opportunity to test it out much, but I like what I see. She prefers it over Vista.
I don't do much printing at 360x540, either. I just can't get satisfying results. To achieve Pantone 321, I would likely use 720x720 8 pass and would have to turn the heat down a bit from my standard settings. Those "teals" can be a bit tricky for me.
I do 90% of my printing at 360x720 8...
I have a client who is looking for a matte finish on some interior banners. I've printed some samples on a matte banner material (Suave 13oz), but they want something even more flat.

As someone already said, it sounds like the image is masked. Unmask the image, select the black box and delete it. You may have to repeat this several times before everything is unmasked.
Sometimes, when importing non-native files, Flexi will add masks to various layers/elements.
Are you running OEM inks? I run quite a bit hotter on banner (45/50) and use Triangle inks which I've found to be quite durable and scratch-resistant. You may want to raise your temps a bit. I can max out the heat (60) on scrim banner without buckling.
It sounds like during a sleep cleaning, the printer had a Wiper Error. This is typically caused by the wiper meeting resistance due to dirty wiper rails, belt or gears. Try cleaning the rails on which the wiper mechanism sits.
I had a similar problem. I ended taking the whole wiper...
Ahhh, I can't stand the cold weather. I dread even our mild winters here.
I feel ya, gab. We golf year-round--rain or shine. I'm gonna carry a pick this winter to help get the tees in the ground on cold, frozen mornings.
FlexiPro contains a RIP feature.
I prefer to do vector design in Flexi and raster embellishments in Photoshop. Although, I do use Illustrator daily as well.
