  2. Problems cutting ai. file

save it as a different file format and post. When you say weld do you mean joining with the pathfinder? Is the gray a transparency by chance?
  3. pms and roland color chart match

Is there another, lets say expanded version of the roland color chart? All of the chips only use a combination of two colors so you will get a real orange like red or a purple but no dark reds that have some black in them etc... I love using the system just wish there were more colors to...
  4. Dry erase dilema

I have learned to do it myself but it is a pain having to pull the thin liner with one hand and run the bs with the other. I tape the leading (starting edge to my glass table and set the bs just before it, then I pull the lam from the end back over itself to the BS and roll it up in a forward...

Charge exactly what you would have charged for the entire job minus the wholesale cost of a roll of that material.

    Awesome quote Wild West.
  9. L25500 or vs640?

I have an xc-540, I think that it is faster than the latex but the ability to not store media while off gassing but instead immediately laminate and mount sounds awesome.
  10. How much to charge....

$84. + tax and art here. There are folks in town that will charge 50% more and they also do nice work, there are people that do them for 1/2 and sometimes it shows. Don't let people tell you that you can't get more than bottom of the barrel prices. Service your customer and the market will...
  11. Going with a new look ...

To step away from the logo for a second and think about what the name brings to mind. The first thing I thought of was dead bodies washing up on the beach and the waves running red with blood like in WW2 or something. The other thing that came to mind was red tide, something that makes you...
  12. My first wrap

For us it is a balancing act. I know shops that knock it out cheap and do lots of it, I also know shops that do nothing but A+ and it shows but not much of it. We try to walk the fence and turn out the best product we can within every customers budget be it $100 or 10K. I think all three of...
  13. box truck

I just did a truck like that. The giant plastic buttons were actually big rivets with big plastic heads. I drilled them out and replaced them with big screw type jobs I got from a u-haul service center. I used automark material from general formulations.
  14. How do you do this?

Hope nobody took what I said the wrong way, I thought that the objective was for this to be done as a vector image as in paths and solid fills as if we wanted to do this with cut vinyl. Disregard everything I might have posted.
  15. How do you do this?

I don't think that you can get exactly this effect in a vector piece of art suitable for cut work but I am constantly amazed at some of the .ai files that I see some folks creating for use in print...
  16. How do you do this?

    Ahem. 'Vector'
  17. My first wrap

The customer is not always right but the customer is always the customer. Asked for or not we always give out two cents, if they teeter we give em the full .o4, if they reject it and throw it on the ground we pick it up and put it in our pocket (because we are cheap like that) and give them...
  18. My first wrap

New sign ordinance in AMA Texas. You also have to move it every 24 hours I believe or a wrap is to considered a permanent sign. I have not challenged them on U-Haul trucks listing their $19.99 in town crap yet.
  19. My first wrap

The design above would be considered illegal in my city. You can only list general descriptions of your business and services but no prices, sales or promotions. Ugh!
  20. My first wrap

I liked the wrap and the constructive critique, if nobody offers constructive criticism than this is just a giant stroke-fest. I especially like it when it is offered in such a polite manner like this and not like the ripping that I see so many give here for entertainments sake only...
