Looking at the leaflet, it looks like the standard was 100 ppi RGB color with a 72ppi minimum. This sounds pretty standard. I personally shoot for 130-150 ppi on our printers since I can see a bit of pixelation on anything lower than 130 ppi.
Thanks for all the replies. I was under the impression that PETG could not be flame polished but there seems to be plenty of evidence that states otherwise. I quoted the job estimating time for flame polishing. We will see where that goes.
I just received an RFQ from a client that specs PETG with chemically polished edges. Chemical polishing is a new concept to me. Does anyone know how it is done and if it is a viable solution for PETG? I am sure it must involve some type of hardcore solvent.
This works well for us but it is pneumatic not electric. It has the added benefit of not needing self piercing grommets which cost much less.

If you have an RGB file in Illustrator and check the option to include CMYK postscript, Illustrator will include CMYK data in the file. The RIP will treat the file as CMYK and use CMYK input profiles for processing color. If the file is already CMYK, checking this box should not do anything...
What application are you exporting from? With Adobe, including transfer functions or "CMYK Postscript in RGB files" will change the color. Also, EPS files to not maintain embedded profiles so you will wind up with the default profile in Flexi when you import.
Not sure how SignLab handles things but the most likely culprits are extra channels, 16 bit color mode, LAB color or the oldie but goody, LZW compression. I have also had tiff files that would not work unless I opened them and copy pasted them into a new document.
Forget about the equipment and employees and unless the building is for sale with the business, I would forget about that too. You are buying the client list, the name and the reputation of the company. Since neither business is raking in the dollars, I think you would be better off to start...
I have had horrible luck with Gudy Window leaving adhesive on windows after removal. Drytac's Window Tac and GBC Artic Low Tac have worked much better for me.
Perfect Resize (formerly Genuine Fractiles) and Alien Skin Blow Up are probably the programs your boss is thinking of. They definitely are not magic however. We use them to enlarge high resolution images for use on wall murals or building wraps. The images you start out with need to be high...
Versaidag Seemee makes a synthetic mesh called Insight. It comes in light and heavy but its polyester afaik not vinyl. This may be what you heard of though.
The flatbed we purchased years ago came with ColorGate Production server which I really like. We need to upgrade a few old Onyx rips in the shop and I was hoping to unify on ColorGate but the complete package price from Fuji is over $20,000. How different is Thrive from PosterShop/Production...
Ultimately, this is exactly what will happen. Your roland tech may initially show some interest in your new rip but knowledgeable support from the roland dealer will be unavailable. Still, this may not be a big deal depending on your comfort level. Also, you will have caldera for support with...
I am sure HP or Durst will be happy to sell you the rip. i do not know of any roland dealers that offer Caldera. Its no big deal to follow this route but beware, you have to be willing to fill in the support gaps between the rip and printers. Most noteably, this means being willing and able to...
