  3. 3m 8508 laminate - a review of sorts.

I don;t understand that either. Why go with a cast laminate that would last 1/3 as long as calendared?
  4. 3m 8508 laminate - a review of sorts.

    I paid $260 for a 54"x150' roll.
  5. 3m 8508 laminate - a review of sorts.

  6. 3m 8508 laminate - a review of sorts.

So, we were looking for a new cast(ish) laminate to use for outdoor mid-term signage... called my supplier and they told me about 8508. Got it in today, saw how nice it looked in the box with its cover, and a sporty green 3M logo repeated on the backing paper, thought "cool" -- and started to...

Wish I had 1/4 of the talent i see in those sketches. Hats off to those who can draw well.
  8. More Concession trailers!

I actually like the wood. Shows that they don't take themselves too seriously. As for the duplicate message... If they only sell three things - and there's a crowd around - you wont be able to read the bottom anyway. If there isn't a crowd, I don't guess it's a bad thing to get your message...

IJ35-(10 or 20)C is a relatively inexpensive air-egress vinyl. We use it for a LOT of applications.
  11. POS System?

  13. Question for Fred.

I would also like to say thanks, I spend a lot of time here, and have learned a LOT in the past year and a half. Thanks Fred, your forum is a godsend.
  14. The more I work on this, the more I hate it.

Thank goodness I didnt make the rectangle around the roofing an ellipse. LMAO.
  15. The more I work on this, the more I hate it.

Here's my latest take... Sometimes, no matter how much you think you like an idea or concept and try to force it to work, it just doesn't. A little more fiddling around with this one, and I think I will be happy.
  16. The more I work on this, the more I hate it.

Well, it started as a J&T - but after i skewed it, it wasnt long enough on the right side, so I extended the "t" a little. Like i said, it got worse and worse the further I went. I started over, am sketching out on a piece of paper now. Long weekend has me all out of sorts.
  17. The more I work on this, the more I hate it.

Yikes. I added the thumbnail, and it doesn't pass the squint test at all, it looks like a big up arrow. Back to the drawing board.
  18. The more I work on this, the more I hate it.

Thought I would throw it out there... let you guys pick it apart. I am about to scratch it and start over.. at first I liked the idea of making the roof go over the letters, now.... I just don't know. I'm thinking the slant was a bad idea. Maybe the font too... then I added roofing, and it...
  19. Cling as Vehicle Graphics?

I did some window cling for a car in a parade, and it worked just fine. Make sure the car is clean and it sticks fine until you hit about 30 miles an hour.
