When I am driving down the road, I keep business cards in the car. If I see a company who has a broken sign, I stop by and tell them I can fix it. Once you fix their bigger sign, they also get you to do everything else. Works for me.
I use the es3 inks on my jv33.. i cant say they are odorless, but not bad. Better plan on laminating EVERYTHING you print though, they dont have the same bite as the solvent you are used to.
I agree, but the feds dont want people to be able to carry large amounts of it around, it's easier to smuggle that way, and harder to track your spending.
Why not plug it in and see what happens? If you're the luckiest man in the world you will plug it in, do a head soak and it will work.... maybe the sign shop had it ready for storage. (If it was all "inked up" - probably not)

The one at future shop is nice. I have been impressed with my Toshiba. Only thing I wish it had is a backlit keyboard. If she gets into digital photography, the media card reader will be a nice thing to have. As long as she doesnt want to play videogames, you are all set :)
