Just went and ate at some tasty food trucks for that food truck race show they put on .... awesome food from a few of them.
The wraps on the vehicles where **** though. looked like the cheapest p.o.s. wraps i've ever seen, every seam was peeling, every rivet was wrinkled and/or bubbled and...
Right now, all you're basically doing is throwing some semi geometric shapes together and adding text. try to find your own voice in your design work not some 50's technicolor porn.
and avoid cmyk logos ... everyone and their mother has cmyk logos...
Must be different here in texas, and in florida since all you need to do is classify yourself as a general handyman or work for hire in your dba and you are fine as long as what you are doing does not require pulling permits or following city/county guidelines. ... generally anything you can do...
finding out rates and trying to match a designer to the rates is the wrong way to go.
interview designers, find their rate and try to discuss pricing as well as their turn around.
going the other way is like one of your customers coming in with a budget and trying to make the job work under...
Ouch, sorry to hear that world of pain ... must be going around ...
coworkers sister passed away so next 3 days he's gone, think I have developed carpal tunnel (atleast short term) and I think I may have to throttle my customers with a roll of transfer tape if they keep up with ticking me...
Cordless just means you hold it like a rock and you beat him in the face with it until his face or his mouse breaks ... whichever is first ... you can HOPE he has a cordless mouse ... more than likely not ... but you can hope he does.
jeez ... the real kicker is if this 'designer' has stuff...
Design work ... mediocre.
layout ... hard to read.
grunge font ... cheap looking.
I'm assuming "the grace center" is at the same upwards (towards the driver) location and angle at the other side correct? if so ... that is going to look odd from side to side ... otherway where they slant up...
O_o yeah, flexistarter is just a cutting utility ... if you don't have any other design software it's useless. invest your time in coreldraw or inkscape to start getting your design feet wet .... plenti of tutorials online.
I sometimes get contracted out for some graphics by a couple shops back in Orlando, I just get an e-mail with a "hey, need x graphics mocked up" and they know my proofing/revision rates so they already have that worked up into their contract. that night I pump out some roughs, next day or 3 do...
Now the glass beads are doable ... but i've seen references to it being put into the paint as well as on top ... wouldn't that just cover the beads up? is it more an enamel thing since it's a transluscent material? do glass beads change the color of the paint?
Alrighty, Interesting job I need to quote on for in a week or so ... does anyone know of a paint that is reflective?
Closest I fount to an accurate reflective that wasn't a small fortune or requiring special stuff was...
I've used adwords before, but for the most part, most of the successful stories I have heard had an ecommerce setup on their site and targeted a specific demographic of item (like retro bar stools) ... at which point their keywords in a search helped potential customers find their products...
