I think the better analogy is replacing an alternator, fuel pump or whatever on your vehicle yourself vs. taking it down to a Ford or Chevy or Dodge dealership.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that the heads being mentioned in this thread for $750 and the OEM heads techs want to sell you for $1,500 are the exact same thing. The difference is the $750 heads cut out the middle man (Mimaki).

IMHO (H stands for hillbilly), I'd leave "Greek Restaurant" on the sign. Never underestimate the stupidity of the public. Even though the name is Greek and you've literally drawn them a picture with the Greek architecture, I bet many, many wouldn't get the idea it is a Greek restaurant.

Thanks, Andy. My original thought was maybe I could attach straight strips of aluminum on several sides of the boxes and sockets, but I didn't know how I was going to attach them. I'll do some experimenting with your collar idea.

Here are pictures of sockets in a large electric sign. The wind is blowing the sign, causing the lamps to wiggle loose. Any ideas on how to stabilize the sockets? I'm trying to avoid replacing all of them. Thanks.

Tater, is the face pan or flat? If it's flat you may have room to slide coroplast inside the retainer over the old face.

The kicker is that many clients accept that they have to pay the out-of-town design company big bucks for their design or logo. In fact, many brag about it. Then they want to haggle with me.
