This is correct. However, I believe teh 4100 did not have USB. On the computer that is working correctly, do you have the 4100 listed also as a printer in the Windows printers? My guess is that you do but do not have it loaded properly on the other computer. What port on the two computers?

I believe this will work with Expert, Pro and Designer. make sure the vector text is layered on top of the bitmap. Select Both and click on EDIT>MASK>MASK

This may be a driver limitation... what 'Other' cutter do you have setup?

Unfortunately if the banners rolled onto themselves ink to ink, the inks will bond. Obviously you do not have a take up reel... recommend getting one.

Are you using the media clips? Sounds like the printhead is striking the media, due to the media curling up. Quite possible due to the heater settings, pinch roller position or the media clip is not being used. What type of material? What are your heater settings?

The RIP engine is different from 8.1 to 8.5 and ICC profiles are not compatible. Did not see any profiles for your machine available on the SAIntl.biz support site under Legacy profiles. The Flexi 8.6v2 installer DVD has the profiles on it.

Ancient Roland Secret :) When exporting your file from ILLY, the Roland color has a specific name attached to it and Versaworks sees that name. With 'Convert Spot Colors' checked in VW, it assigns the appropriate ink formula based on profile and settings.

Printing from Versaworks? Using the Roland palette? What color management preset are you using in the Quality tab (at the bottom)? Do you have Convert Spot Colors and Convert Special Color checked in the File Format tab?

Possible clogged captop if it is hard to pull. Uncap the heads and flood the suspect captop with cleaning fluid. Then pull with syringe to see if you are able to clean it out.

Replace the magenta with a cleaning cartridge and manually pull from the captop. Sounds like you have air in the line somewhere and swapping Black with magenta will just become painful to go back.

Which version of Flexi, which driver are you using for the Desay setup?

After installing the update, did you by chance reset the default preferences, reboot and try again?

The larger XC-540MT is also a metallic printer in the PRO III Series. Slow and Expensive is relative to the target market/niche. You really need to have a market for these inks to make it profitable.
