Do the wrinkles make their way through the nip and cause wrinkles on the finished product? If not, I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise, the rollers may need to be adjusted. Get a tech.
Do you keep your lam rolls up right when not in use or do you lay them down? Don't lay them down cuz...
Thanks. That was one of the ideas I hoping to test out when I get a chance. Do you still get wrinkles using this method?
I'm using a royal soveriegn 55" cold laminator.
Any other great ideas out there?
I've had success and failure while trying to pre-mask cut vinyl with my laminator. The failure usually involves the vinyl and backing paper turning into a wrinkled mess as it's going thru the rollers. I know it's caused by having 2 different thicknesses going thru the pinch rollers - IE vinyl...
Make sure the vacuum is at 100%. Use the media flanges on the media and set the stoppers so it doesn't move. Also, make sure the media is wound up tightly on the core and straight. If that doens't work, try putting a heater in the room where you keep your vinyl. Good luck.
haha Beaver union. I think my wife is member because all the work stops at coffee time and lunch time. Don't even ask about overtime....
Try putting some pre-mask on the coro before you cut. Sometimes that helps. Sandpaper is also pretty good at giving a "hair cut". Beaver Union...lol
If your printer is like mine ( and I think it is), try using the media flanges. Than place the little stopper things on either side of the flanges and use the set screws to keep in place. Another thing I do when setting up is pull out 2-3' of extra vinyl. Than rewind it back on to the core by...
agreed. don't price based on promises. Charge the full deal for the first run. Give em a discount on the next run as long as the files don't change. You both save on design costs/time. Form my experience, most jobs get easier with repetition so you will likely be able to repeat the job with...
Have you tried double or triple pass printing on clear? It doesn't always look great but it depends on the colors and image your printing. Another option is to do double pass and click on the "return to origin" button and "print only"button. Once it returns to the begining, click on...
Unfortunately, I'm not set up to take credit cards. I wish I was so I could keep the cards on file and bill them as we go. 50% deposit, bam, on the card. Balance, bam, on the card. Problem solved.
Last time I did a similar job, one of the ice rink employees told me he would do the "over ice" installs because that was part of his job. Your rink may have someone that does the same.
I found the solution! Teflon Tape. I put a few strips across the back-side platen to stop the moist ink from sticking. I also reduced the heat on the pre-heater and the print-heater to help stop the material from getting all wrinkly... I just did both sides of a 12' banner with no drying time...
