We absorb cost increases for retail work until it hits 5-8%, then pass it on. Keeps our prices pretty consistent, setting us up to only have to increase every 2-4 years and gives us time to rework our expenses into any increase. Wholesale rarely if ever sees an increase.

totally screwed the pooch, ran into a bunch of trouble. bad news- not going to happen in november. good news, we do have a good number of vendors and options for early 2012... working to solidify something this week so we're better prepared and things are nailed down weeks ahead of time...

you're storing two copies? rip em to ISO and chuck the CDs... i do the same thing every year or so.

they dont (or didnt) have a laminator guy, so i had a plotter support guy helping (God bless him, he wasnt trained on the laminators). I cant say enough about their printer guy though... he's a freaking genius.

thread is old, problem was fixed... probably should've mentioned the fix. replaced the board and a step-up, started working again... at least i have a handful of parts for the future owner.

thanks for the heads-up! i think we're going to be using another solution for keyed, but definitely square for swiped... i saw their keyed rate and suddenly wasn't surprised that there are no monthly fees or minimums.

i'll wait 2-3 days for a free one from the website... not canceling intuit until mid-november anyway... thanks though!

now that it's been 5 months, time to report: very happy with my purchase. it was a great investment, and they're actually REALLY accurate. I still doublecheck measurements, but they've always been dead-on. also, their customer service was great... the day I bought em, I had two wraps to layout...

Just explain things to any area signpainter the way you did here, and ask about apprenticeship... I'm sure you'll find a taker! Best of luck!
