  6. Acrobat software too good to be true

Yes I've known people busted for violating license agreements of software. Not for using academic versions though as the only people I have known who use academic versions for business qualified as academic or bought it while they were students and then used it for business (which is legal under...

  10. new customer logo

What I think he's saying is that the negative space isn't balanced well in relation to the type. I'd also go with some variance in the face choices and the kerning needs a lot of work. Helvetica is fine it's just not very inspired and you haven't really pushed or balanced it effectively.
  11. Blogging... what's that like?

I started putting together a book list for another thread but some of it is applicable to this conversation, so here's a reading list if anyone needs something to bring up to the cabin or whatever as summer heads towards autumn. Book Yourself Solid - Michael Port Unmarketing - Scott Stratten...
  12. Blogging... what's that like?

Just be careful about putting all your eggs in the Facebook basket. Particular platforms come and go and Facebook is very bad about allowing you to control and export your own content. One common idea is using Facebook to as a conversion funnel for opt-in email addresses, another is to use...
  13. Acrobat software too good to be true

I get your point and agree. I was merely pointing out that it was a terrible analogy, as the reason no one gets busted for removing tags is that it isn't illegal for you to do so as the end consumer. Happen to abhor this particular urban myth for some reason. :frustrated: Carry on!
  14. Blogging... what's that like?

Perhaps it's more clear as stated it's not all about direct sale conversions? That's the ultimate end goal but much of marketing is about reach, trust and authority as those factor heavily in conversion events and using your marketing reach to build equity is much more effective in the online...
  15. Blogging... what's that like?

There's more to sales than just conversions, blogging like all social media is more about building brand equity and influence than direct conversions. Conversion optimization is another ballpark. Anyway back to the grind.

  19. Blogging... what's that like?

There's always the compromise of a blog which doesn't show dates, that's popular in business blogging. Additionally you can follow the Yoast formula and "promote" (convert & 301 redirect) really hot blog posts to pages as they age.
  20. Blogging... what's that like?

Good blogging is incredibly difficult, a well done post should take you multiple hours to write, edit and format. I do consulting for several professional bloggers and it's not a simple ordeal. However, as just something to drive business and keep your site fresh, expect maybe 2-4 hours on a...
