  1. Custom printed 11oz coffee mugs

He's hotlinking to an images he's hosting (or someone is hosting). Could also easily do it with one image sprite and css positioning.
  2. Acrobat software too good to be true

You could just download it free instead as it's the same penalty*, save yourself $200. Either way you're breaking the EULA and infringing on the IP rights of the copyright holder (the software company). Don't put your business on the line for stupid crap like this. Software costs are costs of...
  3. Acrobat software too good to be true

That's not actually the same deal at all those warnings are for the mattress suppliers and resellers not the end consumers. And that has nothing to do with intellectual property law ;P. If it's too good to be true it is. Especially if it puts your business on the line.
  4. Wordpress vs Joomla?

I was more referring to the fact that the plugin repository isn't culled and has a lot of crap in it that is non-functional or buggy. Lots of abandoned code. It's super easy to slow your site way down by using a plugin with poor code standards. I'm a huge, huge WordPress fan, I do WordPress...
  5. Bicycles...............

Like any good Wisconsinite I swear by Trek.
  6. Wordpress vs Joomla?

WordPress really isn't feature limited, if you can use Joomla you probably can program PHP and there's no limit to what you can do with the WordPress hooks if you know PHP. WordPress > Drupal > Joomla for my money, Drupal a slight edge over WordPress in extremely high-load static site...
  7. What should this be priced at?

There's no point to this thing. Quilters are going to hate it because it's just some plastic on some plastic, when quilting is about fabric, and anyone else won't appreciate the time invested versus just printing the damn thing. Plus the colors are horrendous. Looks like a fun project for a...
  8. Vector / Vexel inspiration (cool stuff)

You can tell the differences in the choices made beyond the smoothness of the lines. Where the shapes are chosen, etc. Humans tend to make more aesthetic choices than live trace as to where to set the divides. It always burns me up when I see some big project that could have been beautiful but a...
  9. Midwest Sign & Screen Printing Supply

Three in a row for no problems in WI ;P. Don't think Fred is still there.
  10. Retail Store

Can I get some of those transparent magnets
  11. Retail Store

You should probably take this to the Business Management forum. No one will be able to give you numbers on walk-ins as that's a hyper-local metric. You'll find out over time, depends on how good of a marketer you are. Keep metrics, do your ROI calcs!
  12. Photoshop CS5 JPG export wrong size !!!

My point is that there's absolutely no benefit. HD space is close enough to free now not to matter and there's no RIP speed advantage, while there ARE advantages to TIF (supports transparency, clipping paths, layers, doesn't lossy recompress on save, etc.). In any case do what works for you.
  13. Vector / Vexel inspiration (cool stuff)

Very clearly all done by hand, it's super easy to tell the difference between a live trace and a hand trace. Hand trace will have very clean lines, live trace will have all sorts of really awkward transitions on the edges.
  14. New design

I showed it to my coworker and he said "it must have special tires". :ROFLMAO:
  15. New design

Looks really, really good. At least I think it does, I fell out of my chair trying to look at it straight. Was your camera man drunk? ;)
  16. Matching ink to paint

Xrite 528 spectrodensitometer and a balanced color viewing box or booth to view the samples in (here's a link to building a simple color viewing booth). All you can do is match it in balanced light and show the customer that. Lighting conditions in the wild aren't really your issue unless you...
  17. Boat wrap recently finished

Facebook is a book of faces, Google refers to the number Googolplex (as in we want to index a Googolplex of web pages), zoosk I've never heard of (probably dude did a random generator for a 5 letter URL that wasn't taken), yahoo dates back to 1726 (Gulliver's Travels) ... ;) No one has a...
  18. spent the weekend working in a true paradise... and shot video on the drive back...

I've done this drive a few times, it is spectacular. One of the few things that lives up to the hype.
  19. Cumulus Computers New Website

To be honest it looks self-taught, I wouldn't trust the company behind any of those sites with my toaster much less my computer. Hire a web developer. If you can't afford to do that then look into Squarespace, their templates will at least save you from looking like you're 15 years out of date.
  20. Wordpress vs Joomla?

I prefer WordPress by a mile but you should find a developer you trust and let them choose the platform to fit your needs, once they figure out what those are via client interviews and such.
