Should be reasonably accurate. The issue with foils is the amount of waste involved.

Very possible that the colors that are being displayed like a washboard are just not reachable by this print technology. Saving you bitmaps as RGB might be helpful.

If they blow again, replace the printhead cables and fuses. Hopefully the carriage and mainboard were not damaged.

Communication issue.... either the cutter is set to the wrong Mode or the Serial port settings are not correct. If it is an older unit, be sure NOT to plug in both Serial and Parallel cables.
