If your files are saved as *.sm (SignMate format), you can rename them to *.FS format and should be able to open using Flexi 8.
I know in Flexi 7, you can import *.SM files without any issues.

With only half of the black head firing correctly, I would venture to say that the captop needs to be replaced. The head is probably not seating properly.
You could set using ARP command and Mac address but chances are you should have setup software that came with the Mutoh, or possibly change it within the printers menu system.
I have not worked with the Mutoh units much.
Have not heard of this one PMG. What was reason for reinstallation?
Sounds like the preferences file is not being saved. Maybe conflicting AV or Firewall softwware?

Does the Nozzle Test print perfect?
What media?
What media profile and settings are being used in the RIP?
What version of Flexi?
Should be the same but I have seen some software RIPs require all 12 numbers, including preceding zeros.
Simply moving the cutter and printer should not make a difference. They should still hold the same IP address.
Question, did she move the computer or any other network hardware? Check...

I doubt it. The next time you notice it, take a picture of each end of the media, showing the ends to see if one side is slightly more unraveled than the other...
Funny question but is your printer level? I have seen rolls move left or right when being printed and therefore will cause the material to buckle or raise off the platen on one side. If the printer is level, bubble between the two lines :) , then I would suspect the roll itself is out of round...
