  1. How can I

Find the file you want and right click it. Go to "open with". Click once on Corel Photopaint. Then find the check box at the bottom that says "open all files of this type with this program?" and check it. Then Photopaint will be your default bitmap editor.

Pretty sure it's available on botw.
  3. red blade holder vs. blue blade holder

The red blade holder is for Republican signmakers and the blue one is for Democrats.
  4. Converting vector clipart to cutter ready

While most of Corel's clipart is already vector clipart, much of it is not ready to cut. Most of the color clipart was designed for print, so it has many, many overcut lines. Best advice I can give on making Corel clipart ready to cut is ungroup the image, remove as much detail as you can do...
  5. Combining letters into one object

Don"t combine the two objects. Weld them.
  6. SH____T,, Im an idiot.

System restore doesn't revert saved files to what they were before. If you were working in Corel there is the chance that it saved an autobackup file before you changed it. Go to My Documents > Corel User Files and see if there might be one there.
  7. Corel Draw x3 symbol help

Just make sure the font file is installed and then go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map. When character map opens, scroll to the font you want and it will show you every character in that font set and tell you what key strokes it takes to bring it up.
  8. Corel help needed...keeps recutting

Pieces stacked on top of each other or hairline outlines around objects.
  9. Corel X3 "training"

Do you have the book that came with it? If so, most of the answers are in there. If you see a sign with a particular effect you like, such as a drop shadow, just thumb to that section of the book and it will describe how to create it. The best learning happens "on the job" while using the...
  10. Argh! Help me with Coreldraw x3

If your copy of Corel came with the book, it would be well worth your time to read a few pages whenever you get the chance. Also, keep it next to your design station while working. It explains most anything you want to know, including the difference between an outline and a contour. I have been...
  11. Corel X3 - Can't Install...

Make sure your anti-virus software is disabled when trying to install a new program. May not be the problem, but worth a try if you haven't tried it already.
  12. CorelDraw 12 differences from X3

I've used several versions and like X3 the best by far.
  13. HP Designjet 9000s????

I have been told that the HP 9000s is the same printer as the Seiko Colorpainter 64s. I have seen the service manual for the Seiko on E-Bay for around 15 bucks. Might be worth a look.
  14. Need help from the font pros

All straight lines. Draw it faster than you could find the font, if it is a font.
  15. Cutting Text (Specifically O and R)

Type the letters straight into Flexi, send to the cutter and I bet your problem disappears. Illustrator sometimes doesn't play nicely with certain fonts, files and software.
  16. GRC 61 plotter

If I had run into the problem before I could be of more help, but mine has given me very few problems. Nothing that I couldn't straighten out myself, anyway. I wouldn't throw it away, though. May get it fixed down the road or may run across someone wanting it for parts.
  17. GRC 61 plotter

I've had a GRC-61 for about 8 years and never had that happen. I assume you've tried shutting everything down and rebooting ... plotter as well as computer?
  18. First banner - Woo Hoo

Sorry to tell you, but you're gonna be doing friends/relatives b-day banners for free even after you get your license and don't need the practice anymore. It's somebody's birthday every week around here. Nice banner, by the way.
  19. Encad Novajet 700 60" Wide

Look on some of the other forums like signweb and find a used HP 5500 with UV inks. Probably gonna cost a little more than an Encad, but it is a much more user friendly printer. Very little maintenance required. It can sit for a few days and still crank up and run perfectly. UV inks work well...
  20. Start up with an Inkjet

Most inkjet printers such as the HP 5000 require you to print on white media. This is because they require a white background in order for the ink colors to look right. They cannot produce the color white themselves, so the media has to be white. If you print on clear media, the colors will look...
